Just 50 miles to north east of London, Milton Keynes was devised as a ‘new town’ in the 1960s and continues to evolve and grow today. Famed for its roundabouts and district grids, the town has benefitted from a steady flow of new residents from London. House prices have seen strong growth, with amenities and schools now plentiful and high quality. Housing is more varied than its reputation might suggest, with everything from period properties in historic villages to new build homes in chic developments.
Well-Designed Development with Areas for Management Improvement
Public transport is excellent with several nearby bus routes and the train station just a 10-minute walk away. Traffic noise is generally minimal, but there’s a motorbike that passes by every evening. The local shops, restaurants, and bars are varied and of good quality. Parking can be tricky at times, but the building offers parking space for residents which is convenient. The bin collections are reliable. Overall, the area feels safe, with very few issues around anti-social behavior.
Please review your development:
The design of the development is modern and functional, with spacious layouts and good natural light in most units. The facilities, including the working space and communal areas, are well-maintained and clean. Building management is responsive, addressing maintenance requests promptly, and the 24/7 receptionists, which we used to have, were a great convenience for deliveries and resident support, though it’s unfortunate they are no longer available. However, property management needs to improve communication and better enforce rules, particularly when it comes to residents who smoke within the building, which is strictly forbidden. Stronger sanctions or quicker action would help maintain the cleanliness and comfort. Overall, it’s a well-planned development with a few areas that could be refined to enhance the experience for residents.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I wish I had known about the Wi-Fi issues from the provider, as connectivity can be inconsistent very often. Additionally, the community app could use improvements; it’s not very user-friendly, and better interaction features would enhance communication with other neighbors.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Building management has generally responded well to issues, addressing maintenance requests promptly and resolving most problems efficiently. However, communication on certain updates could be improved.
