Indoor/outdoor living in Canary Wharf / docklands.

Dollar Bay is an extremely well designed building, not too many suites in the building or per floor, wide format tiles, beautiful fittings, and the winter gardens are amazing, you get 8 months of use and it gives a real indoor/outdoor feeling to the suites.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Great area, close to Canary Wharf and Wood Wharf as well as the docks and river. There are hundreds of restaurants, shops, and other services within a 10 minute walk, and yet the docks, the riverside, and mudchute park make for quiet escapes.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

monthly fees are quite high (about £700 for a 860sf apartment per month) for a building with very few services included.

What is the best feature of your home:

The winter garden and the view over South Dock, there's always something to look at out the window.

Luxury living, 3 train stations nearby and lots of services around.

The view's from the apartment are incredible. The building is so beautiful. I like living here, just from the moment you enter from the main door, it is so beautiful. The concierge 24h are friendly and helpful. There is a parking in case you have a car, but also a parking for bikes. The lifts are so fast you get to your floor in seconds. My apartment has the great views to the dock.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is amazing, just 5 minutes walk from new area Wood Wharf and 10 minutes from Canary Wharf, 2 train stations, DLR nearby, shops, restaurants, events, cinema, gyms, it's like a small city but far from crowded central London.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It gets too sunny sometimes and there are no curtains.

What is the best feature of your home:

The winter garden with amazing views of the dock. I love it!

Much improved area and building

We have lived in Dollar Bay for over six years. Initially we had a number of glitches, which frankly took too long to fully resolve. Happily they are all solved now and lifts, services and fixtures all work well. The management company is generally responsive, if a little pricey. The general design of the building is very attractive and the entrance is stylish and welcoming. The building is kept clean and all service areas are always free from litter. Car parking facilities are good and the car lifts are now reliable.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The Isle of Dogs has good open spaces including parks, a city farm and many waterside walkways. Vicinity of the Dockland's water activity centre is also ideal. Transport links are exceptionally good, especially since the arrival of the Elizabeth Line into Canary Wharf. Facilities on the Canary Wharf (particularly with the addition of Wood Wharf) are improving dramatically as the area shifts away from pure commercial to a more residential balance. Many new bars, eateries and retail outlets are opening. Parking is not a problem as there is an NCP almost next door, although this is not open at weekends. Traffic can be heavy in rush hour but not excessively and the evenings/night times are quiet.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It has taken a while for the area to fully develop. Now that is well under way but I had expected it to happen sooner.

What is the best feature of your home:

Style and quality of fittings is very good. The heating and cooling is very effective. The sound insulation is very high quality and the views from our flat both to the west along South Quay and east along the Thames are first-class.

Great area - great connectivity. Close proximity to great transit stations and retail variety.

The area is modern, clean and safe. Close proximity to great transit stations and retail variety. There are many options of different outdoor spaces for families. I consider this a family-friendly and pet-friendly development. Parking tends to be the only tricky and expensive thing. I love the options for food delivery and dining.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Local amenities are modern and very comfortable to get to. It’s easy to get around because the streets are safe and well lit. It’s also easy to walk around indoors when the weather isn’t great. Views are nice. Plenty of construction going on but they tend to not disturb.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building management is usually quick to solve any issues. Happy with the service so far

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known how much value there is in this area and I would’ve narrowed my apartment hunt from the start.

I am happy to live in Dollar Bay

I keep discovering Dollar Bay building shape every time I look at it. It stands out from other skyscrapers in Canary Wharf. Flats are really well designed and functional. I love winter garden / balcony area. It is very quiet, I can't neither hear traffic from Manchester Rd, nor my neighbours. Just from time to time I hear noise from cooling vent, like someone dropped some v. heavy object. As for management company, I am waiting for cooling system to be fixed for 5 months now. Other than this issue, they are keeping the building in very good condition.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Dollar Bay has everything required to live in a dynamic area: restaurants, bars and pubs. Plenty places to walk and discover. Jubilee line and DLR guarantee perfect transport. It's a pity that Elizabeth Line is still not working and we have to wait another few years.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Keep hearing strange noises from cooling vent.

What is the best feature of your home:

Very functional layout, a lot of cupboard space. It is very quiet.
