Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Canary wharf is an amazing area to live in. Loads of bars and resturants, also all the shopping and nightlife you could want. It should also be mentioned it's super safe and clean.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes I had an issue with the door and they fixed it the same day.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I had a pretty good idea as I've stayed in the area and seen the place a lot.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Canary Wharf amenities are very close and there is everything you might need. The Elizabeth Line is amazing, new and fast - takes me to work in like 7 minutes! The "metal" bridge over to Canary Wharf definitely needs an upgrade!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The maintenance has been great. We did have a package stolen from the package room. That service could really be improved. The room is a mess and I feel like I can't receive shipments because I'm worried it will be lost or stolen.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

This exact area is so, so dirty with trash everywhere. Needs improvement. There are too many cars. Cars should not be allowed in courtyard of building it's dangerous. That should all be pedestrian only. Not enough green space next to building. Very disappointed by that. The metal bridge to Canary Wharf is awful. Bad experience.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Wide variety of lovely restaurants and shops near by. Waitrose andM&S within walking distance is also handy and I give another 5 stars. Lovely to have transport links within walking distance is another lovely thing!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

None raised yet. waste bin area must be more cleaner and tidy. I have no idea how frequently they empty those bins.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We have given almost all the information needed. We physically visited and viewed the place.

Modern Luxury and Convenience in the Heart of Canary Wharf

Divy (Tenant)

Nov 2024

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Living in the Sailmakers Apartments in Canary Wharf, London, offers a unique blend of convenience, modernity, and scenic beauty. Local Shops, Restaurants, and Bars: The area has a diverse selection of high-quality shops, restaurants, and bars catering to a range of tastes. From upscale dining to casual cafes, Canary Wharf has many options within walking distance, especially at the nearby shopping centers like Canada Place and Cabot Square. Open Spaces: Despite being a busy financial hub, Canary Wharf is surprisingly green, with numerous parks and riverside spaces. The Thames Path and Jubilee Park offer excellent spots for walking, jogging, and relaxation. Transport Links: Transport in Canary Wharf is generally excellent. The area is served by the Jubilee Line, DLR, and now the Elizabeth Line, making commutes into central London and beyond very convenient. Regular bus services and riverboat services also add to the connectivity. Cons: Parking: Parking in Canary Wharf, and specifically at Sailmakers, can be limited and expensive. Street parking is restricted, so residents often need to rely on rented parking spaces, which can add to living costs. Traffic and Noise: Being a central area, there can be significant traffic during peak hours, leading to noise and congestion. Construction work on new developments is common and can cause additional noise. Bin Collections & Anti-Social Behaviour: Bin collections are well-managed within the building, but being in a busy district means occasional issues with litter or noise from late-night bars nearby, though the area is generally safe and patrolled. Overall, Sailmakers in Canary Wharf is a vibrant, convenient, and scenic place to live, albeit with some minor inconveniences due to its central, bustling location.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management at Sailmakers has been very supportive, responsive and efficient in addressing issues. They handle maintenance requests promptly, often resolving problems within a day or two. The team is proactive, regularly checking in to ensure that everything is functioning smoothly and keeping residents updated on any ongoing maintenance or building updates.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I wish I’d known before moving in is that while the area is vibrant and offers great amenities, it can be quite busy during peak hours, especially with people commuting in and out of Canary Wharf. The nearby bars and restaurants add to the lively atmosphere but can also bring some noise, especially on weekends. Also, parking options are limited and pricey, so for those with cars, arranging secure parking early on would be wise. Lastly, the construction work around Canary Wharf is frequent, so it’s worth investing in soundproofing or choosing a higher floor if you’re sensitive to noise. Overall, Sailmakers is a fantastic place to live with plenty to offer, but a few practical considerations would have been helpful to know in advance!

Close to shops, restaurants, parks and transportation. The area is safe and great for a run in the morning.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very quick response. Special thank you to Colin and Orlando for the repairs.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The neighborhood is great, better than expected. Shops and restaurants are a minute to two walk from the property.
