Great area with potential for improvement

Lovely area and lovely development with lots of positive aspects such as the horses, the wild greenery areas. Property management and communication really does need to be improved. The house itself is well built with nice features and lay out. A very good size family home

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Lovely area, especially for family walks with the dog. Snagging work and repairs have taken a long time, even near the 2 year mark with very bad communication

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very poor communication. Still works not completed after 2 years

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Council flats very close to the property with drug use and antisocial behaviour

Nice properties but limited local amenities

Flat we live in is very well designed, good amount of living space, and the development itself looks very pleasant. Building management are in regular contact, and inspect every once in a while. Facilities in the local area are extremely limited, but the houses/flats themselves are perfectly pleasant.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The open spaces are really nice, lovely fields and nature spots. Ideal if you have a dog to walk. Amenities are very limited. There is a co op within a 10 minute walk, but not much else. No pubs, no cafes, no community centre. Couple of new schools, one with a gym, but is quite limited. Regular bus to reading and Wokingham available, but no trains unless you travel to Wokingham first. Most properties have off road parking, but there are plenty of visitor bays available.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Generally responses have been quick, but often issues passed, especially if not within 2 year warranty

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That there would not be a local shop for over 5 years and still no local pubs/cafes in the development, even though promised

All round great place to live

Myself and my daughter are currently renting in the Waterman’s View development but have fallen in love with the area. We have the view of the lake from our balcony and love waking up to the sound of the ducks and birds in the morning, There are so many open spaces and greenery, we have California Country Park Right on our doorstep where we enjoy walking, cycling and a lovely coffee/breakfast or lunch at their very friendly café. If you love cycling, walking and being around nature then this is the perfect place to feel right at home. After only being here for three months we already feel part of the community, where everyone is friendly and always willing to help each other. We have a couple of local shops, one within walking distance, the other we drive to but only takes about four minutes by car. The local services such as bin collections have been very good and we haven’t noticed any antisocial behaviour, which makes us feel very safe as two women living on their own. We haven’t tried public transport yet so Cannot comment at this time. We haven’t had any issues with parking for our own personal use, however, there doesn’t appear to be enough parking for everyone’s visitors which we believe is something that should be considered on future developments. We also have elderly and disabled family and friends who sadly are unable to visit us in our flat as there are no lifts. This is something we struggle with as we’d love them to come and visit us Instead of trying to arrange somewhere convenient to meet up close by. There might only be three flights of steps but our disabled friends/family are sadly not able to manage these. Now that the evenings are drawing in and streets are darker, we have noticed there is not sufficient lighting switched on whilst we are out for walks, especially along Parks Lane, Biggs Lane and the bridging links between Watermans View and Watermans Gate that run along side Biggs Lane . That aside, this is truly a special place to live and can’t Imagine ourselves living anywhere else. Warm regards Tracey & Becca

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

This is our first experience of renting, and I have to say, we we were not Impressed with Prospect as the property management agency from the very beginning. Our first experience was that they have not been informative, helpful or efficient when things are not going smoothly. I believe that Prospect had only recently taken on this flat to manage (just before we moved in?) and therefore would expect more of a customer service than what was provided thus far. However, our landlord Tom has been amazing…thank you Tom ?

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We wished we had considered the parking issue in more depth. With only one allocated parking space per flat, It means the second person needs to use one of the visitor parking spaces on roadside, leaving no spaces for visitors to park. The lack of a lift Should have also been a consideration, as this affects everyone with friends/family that are disabled, elderly, people with children, getting heavy shopping and large items up the stairs.

Nice development but lacking promised facilities

Family W (Shared Owner)

Design of the development is nice, area feels open and nice balance of "green" spaces. However the LACK OF FACILITIES is very frustrating, a lot of residents keep on complaining about it to the Council, Developers but there's no updates from anyone to when we can expect the promised "village centre".

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Development is lovely overall, a very nice touch with the horse sculptures BUT they should be lit up so they could be visible in the dark, it would be a really lovely touch! Noise, dust and dirt from the building site can be rather frustrating, not much consideration for the local residents...

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

No, the issues raised are not being resolved in a timely manner.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the village centre will take YEARS to build and not "a few months" as promised...
