Lovely place to live with some room for improvement

The design of the development is great with open and green space, but it isn’t being kept up to the standard it was when I moved in and when they were still actively selling here, it has become very overgrown. The neighbourhood is full of lovely people and the building I live in is so friendly. We were charged for some features that we weren’t receiving like window cleaning and water supplies in bin stores that didn’t exist.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The open space is fantastic, however the village centre we were promised with shops, NHS services etc hasn’t materialised after years of waiting. The street lights need to be on later into the evening.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

It has been a matter of pushing to get what we needed, for example snagging was only done after a lot of complaining.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the bills for maintenance etc would be so high with such poor delivery of the services.

There are excellent green spaces to visit just a few steps from our front door and we feel very safe in the area. The downsides to this development are definitely to do with the poor maintenance of the area such as very irregular weeding and grass cutting and lack of a local shop

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Beautiful area with excellent access to green space. However very few amenities such as shops and pubs

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Horrendous, little to no acknowledgement. Has now been escalated and still no movement since

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The damp stain in the bathroom was an actual leak know to the developer, not a ‘ventilation issue’ as advised by the sales man

The design of the development is great

The design of the development is great, we love the meadows for walking the dog, and good easy access to California country park. Building management and property management probably the thing which lets the development down as we have been in discussions with the management company about who should be maintaining the communal areas etc.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The range of places to eat and drink in Wokingham is excellent. Great dog walks too with the meadows. Very little traffic, Bin collections are fine.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, we had an issue with the radiator when we first moved in which was dealt with quickly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How long the village was going to take to be completed

Really nice location for walks. Close to good schools. Calafonia country park has a coffee shop and nice food. They serve beer and wine. Also a great playground for the kids. We were promised a town centre which never happens. No community school as it’s still under the catchment of Farley hill

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good location for walks and outdoor. Very few shops and we were promised a town centre which never arrived. Arborfield green school catchment is for Farley hill so the community has no school close by. Everyone drives to school despite a cycle path all the way to the new school.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Terrible. Non existent. Useless. You send them emails but none of the things I’ve asked for have been done.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had some knowledge of Crest. Total crooks.

Lovely place to live

The design of the area and buildings is very good and the local area is really lovely. Sometimes building management can feel a bit lacklustre and things have not happened since moving in like window cleaning. There tends to be litter outside that never seems to be cleared which is a shame in such a nice area.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

This is a really lovely, quiet area to live in with lots of open space and places to walk. Parking is great and the people living nearby are really nice. The bad aspect is the lack of facilities! There are hardly any shops etc in the local area and it would be so much nicer if there were shops, coffee places and pubs to socialise in.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Not always and I have waited over a year for an item to be fixed.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known it would take a very long time before any local amenities would appear.
