Nice if it was just a private estate.

I like the position of our home. A small private road and right on the perimeter of the estate. The house is very well designed, with larger rooms and windows compared to other new builds. The bad bits are the state of the grassed areas, the unfinished roads which will wreck your cars tyres and suspension in due course, and where the pond is, that area is getting too much attention from the feral kids who have already started to throw stuff in it.

Please review your development:

I do like the layout of the estate, and am glad that there is only one way in and out, as it stops any “rat runs” developing. Theres alot of social housing with its associated antisocial problems but luckily it’s not too near us so we haven’t had any effect from the issues as yet!!!! It’s just a shame that there are many who have spent hundreds of thousands of pounds on their dream home just to share it with social tenants.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Too many social housies on the estate. So some antisocial issues. Others complaining about not having a place for children to play but there’s plenty of room for one by the flats. Terrible rubble filled clay soil so not able to plant directly into the ground.

What is the best feature of your home:

Large rooms and windows. Great layout of the house. Private location and large gardens front and rear.

Dreadful quality and awful workmanship. Seemingly no skill or standard employed. An enormous amount of rebuilding to be done.

Please review your development:

Scruffy, unfinished and dangerous. The development has suffered from collapsed drains, torn down houses and damaged property. There is no care of pride whatsoever. Such a shame given its proximity to beautiful ancient forest. The development needs demolishing.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How atrocious L&Q are. Their standards, knowledge, customer care, quality etc is beyond rubbish

What is the best feature of your home:

The driveway, which is the part least likely to fall down

Great Development, Not so great Area.

We love our little street we live on. We have wonderful neighbours and don’t have any problems with neighbouring noise as we are tucked away in the development and not located on the main road. We have the train located near us, which we hear ever so often but honestly is not a problem for us as its barely any noise. A negative about the development would be the rubbish and overall cleanliness of the neighbourhood. We are having an issue with couple of neighbours down the road that don’t pick up after themselves and its quite frustrating coming home everyday seeing the rubbish lying around – particularly on the main road coming into the Glisk development. In terms of local shops, we only have an Asda and Aldi near by. We have to drive towards Wallasey (about 15 minutes away) to go get a broader option of shops like Tescos and Lidl. However, we have Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet just 5 minutes away which is convenient. We also have a lovely service station right by the development which is great ! We do wish that the development was located in a better area as Ellesmere Port is quite a “rough” neighbourhood.

Please review your development:

We love our home and the design of the new build is honestly great – we cannot fault it. We are noticing cracks and minor issues with the plaster and paint as well as our carpets that are lifting. But this isn’t major for us, as this can be fixed. Our garden is lovely and spacious as well as our rooms in the home. The home design allows us to interpret how we would like to place our furniture etc -we see this as bonus as many homes in the UK limit you to furniture layouts. We also love that we have a near-by forest to walk in.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish we had known more about Ellesmere Port as we aren’t to fond about it .

What is the best feature of your home:

Our bright and spacious Kitchen, Large main bedroom , Floor to ceiling windows, and functional Loo-tality.

Perfect house in a great area

Really close to Cheshire Oaks so there is an array of shops and restaurants a short drive away, there are a few open area to walk that are close by, there is little to no noise of traffic even being this close to the motorway, all neighbors are super friendly, however I do wish there was a cafe/bar on the estate to make it feel more of a close community

Please review your development:

The house is beautiful, it is a great design and the high feeling make it feel very spacious, the heating and lights took a couple of weeks to fully grasp but are so convenient and now very easy to use, the property manager has been incredibly helpful and she reply’s promptly to all queries,

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The Wi-Fi is restricted to only a company called grain, and no satellite dishes are allowed to be installed, it would have been good to hear about prior so there was no wasted time trying to plan bills using companies that weren’t accessible to the area

What is the best feature of your home:

The light and heating has been great as I can control everything from my phone even when I am away from the house, I can even schedule the heating so I can come home to a warm house after work which is always a great thing to arrive home too
