the houses are beautiful and the development is very spacious. its lovely to have a cul-de-sac type of design, not to mention the beautiful newly renovated riverbank behind out house, its lovely to take my daughter there to feed the ducks and spend some time there

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

everythings great, only issue is parking on the development, people park on two sides of the road as you turn into Kingfisher Drive, making it very difficult to drive through, and children not respecting peoples personal space and driveway space

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

i wish id got one of the properties near the riverbank, its lovely there and really private

What is the best feature of your home:

i love the open plan kitchen and diner, as well as the large master bedroom

Good house, bad area

The facilities we are provided with are brilliant. The fully furnished kitchen was one of the selling points for us moving in to this property. The double driveway also helps massively. We have a very large back garden too which the kids love playing in.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good aspects that it’s local for my partners work and we have a shop just around the corner. Bad aspects would be that we experience fireworks most nights which wake the kids up and there seem to be a lot of car racing on nearby streets that are also very loud

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We have always had a good response to any issues we have risen whilst living in this property.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The area which we live, isn’t the nicest. There seems to be a lot of antisocial behaviour and we seem to always have helicopters circling above at night

The building has itself is beautiful, spacious and bright. The house aspects regarding how it’s built is a different story, as it is a new house and we’re the first residents the walls have cracked and screw marks become visible from the plaster boards being screwed on. However it’s a 2 min job to fix with some filler, sandpaper and splash of paint. The electric oven is fabulous, never had a problem with it cooking, however the seal has fell of from the inside. The fridge freezer is brilliant and displayed great. The dishwasher is a gods send, and so is the 2 in 1 washing machine and dryer.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I have been living in rochwood rise since October 2020. There are numerous pros and cons living on this site. Pros: Living a 10 min walk away from the leisure centre and town centre. There is a local health centre literally next door, which has doctors, dentist, childrens health visitor centre and more. There is a garage that is open 24/7 which is great, and aldi for a shop. There is a nice nature walk to kingsway park where the range, pets at home, and McDonald’s etc is based, this is a nice 20min walk away and access to bus station in a 10 min walk also which is beneficial. Cons of living on this site are: it is located in the centre of Rochdale, where there is fire works being set of at early hours a lot. Living on my street on the site is mixed feelings. It is beautiful and the neighbours are all so lovely and tight with one and another. The parking situation entering into the site is a night mare due to the houses on the front dont use their own parked spaces behind their houses. Which means it’s constantly hard to get In and out due to the main road also. The bin collections are the best I’ve seen to be honest, always on time and very clean, neighbours also put the bins out if you have forgotten or are away. The traffic noise you cannot hear much unless you get the odd occasion where a young driver has they cars all fancied up like a racer. There hasn’t been much anti-social behaviours other than one of the residents like to party load till silly time In the morning.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

No problems raised, but I have heard from others they are fast responding and effective.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That I can’t buy this home.

Difficult to get responses from you

Sarah L (Tenant)

Please reply to email or come back to us quickly if we need some help from you. The sound proofing is very bad, some noise could be heard clearly during the night from neighbors. Also, the window is too thin to ban the noise from the street. If you could do some improvements for these would be great.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It’s really difficult to contact with Simple life if any facilities needs fixed in the house. Always needs to wait for long long time, even for months to be fixed. The location of the property is very convenient.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very very slow and it was taking so long time to solve the issue. I didn’t receive back door key from the landlord when I moved in. It took nearly 2 months to get the key for our back door. My toilet top dropped when I moved in, I raised the issue but no response, I kept chasing and chasing. It was fixed in the third month after I moved in.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Because the properties are very close to each other and the sound proofing is very bad. So get some information about your neighbors before you moved in.

Hi Rebecca, Thank you for your review and honest feedback and thank you for recommending Simple Life as your landlord. We can see that you feel the location is a little too noisy for you. With a number of sites in the Rochdale areas, we'd love the opportunity to find you another home more suited to you, so please get in touch with us toward the end of your current tenancy term and we would be happy to help!
