Facilities are excellent at Hollyfields

Facilities are excellent at Hollyfields. The service charge delivers good value including garden maintenance and a highly convenient shuttle service that runs in the morning and evening. More needs to be done on parking. Due to the proximity of a school certain times of the day are congested with cars that are not permitted to park on the estates.

Very happy we chose, Hollyfields & Berkeley. We are very happy with the location & build quality. Any issues have been resolved quickly and efficiently. All Berkeley personnel that we have dealt with from viewing to maintenance issues have been very helpful.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The after care from Berkeley has been excellent all issues resolved quickly.

Nothing springs to mind we are very happy with the area & development

Happy in Hollyfields

Design is very good and I am happy with the size of my flat and the grounds around are maintained nicely. It is a quiet estate and free from traffic. It feels a nice community here. Last year the cleanliness was very good but it slipped in the communal areas recently. I havnt dealt with property management here just my housing association and they take a long time to respond and sort out the bin store situation. Overall I am happy living in Hollyfields and it’s very close to the park which my son enjoys.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Parking is not allocated but with a permit I always find a space close to my flat. Bin collection is frustrating as I complained about having a cardboard bin before and that hasn’t been organised so the bin store gets over flowed with cardboard. It is very quiet here and maintained nicely on the grounds. The flats further down keep dumping furniture outside across from the flats which is frustrating as it’s a nice place to live apart from them doing that. There is no traffic noise it is very quiet.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had know it wasn’t allocated parking as I assumed I would always get a space outside my flat but that is not always the case sometimes it’s further away.

Great Flat could use some improvement on facilities and management

Design of the apartment is perfect. Great size and reasonable rent cost. Very happy with the overall layout of the development. Nicely spread out. Building management is a bit slow in getting back to our housing association on repairs. For example our boiler needed looking at and it took a week for someone to acknowledge our communication. We ended up getting it fixed privately

It’s close to my work and in a quiet neighbourhood. Close to town centre. Only limited to 1 parking space per apartment but thankfully we make it work.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

One parking space per apartment. We ideally need 2 spaces but we make it work

Could be better considering the price

The plumbing is awful and no one will help. The design is clean, modern and very spacious. I adore the large windows with natural light - that sold the property to me. The development is very aesthetically pleasing and peaceful. Although I pay a high service charge and am unsure what I revive for that.

The development is quiet and pretty but is quite far from shops, restaurants and the station which makes me feel isolated.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They haven’t - just shifted the blame for months with the issue remaining.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the plumbing was bad, and I wouldn’t be able to use the shuttle bus as I have epilepsy and can’t drive

The development is clean and tidy and is generally well maintained. The parking is dealt with by a private company and Berkeley have no relationship with these guys so this may be worth baring in mind when you have visitors.

The local area and location is great. There are a few silly errors with the build, for example the apartment came with a dishwasher and a slot for a washing machine, yet only one socket was provided, a simple double socket would have solved this.
