Easy living

The building in general is so clean, modern, and minimalistic, and made choosing to live here an incredibly easy decision. There’s so much scope to make the apartment your own. It’s also assuring to know there is always someone on hand to answer any questions and deal with any problems, and that you’re not stuck with an unresponsive landlord! The overall viewing and application process was made so easy by Diba and Cameron, and they went out their way to make the move work for me. Easiest rental process ever.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

For someone who works mainly at home (and needs peace and quiet) but occasionally commutes to London, the somewhat remote location is ideal for me, while having the option to jump on a 40-50 minute direct train to London; it’s the best of both worlds. I do wish I had a good coffee spot close by, but other than that it’s perfect for my needs. Plus being literally next door to a huge Asda which sells pretty much everything is a lifesaver.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Luckily haven’t had any major problems but they are always available to answer questions and are super approachable.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I personally can’t think of anything I wish I had known before I moved in, although I would definitely recommend going for a flat pack/vacuum packed sofa or one that comes in parts as I very nearly went for a three seater which wouldn’t have fit in the lift!

A great living experience

The Kell in Gillingham is a great place to live. The design is modern and practical, and the location is perfect, offering beautiful views of the Medway River and Chatham Docks. The building is always clean and well-maintained, with a parcel room to keep your deliveries safe. The reception is staffed and the team is always approachable and ready to help. One of the best things about The Kell is that it is pet-friendly. In the evenings, you’ll see many residents walking their pets, which creates a friendly atmosphere. The neighbors are very friendly, making it easy to feel at home. There are cameras everywhere, which makes the building very secure. The move-in process was very easy, thanks to the helpful staff, especially Diba and Cameron. They were always available to help with any issues. The Kell also hosts monthly events in the common room. These events are a great way to meet other residents and build a sense of community. Diba and Cameron do a great job organizing these events.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Shops and Convenience: The area is very convenient for shopping. There's a Londis located just below the building and a large Asda a few minutes' walk away. This makes grocery shopping easy and accessible. Quality of Life: The Kell apartment is perfectly situated with a view of the Medway River, which is especially enjoyable during the summer months. The building itself is well-maintained and includes daily news updates in the lift. Rent includes reliable Wi-Fi. Supportive Staff: The move-in process was smooth, with staff members Diba and Cameron being extremely helpful and quick to resolve any issues.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management at The Kell has been highly responsive to any problems or issues raised. Whenever there was a concern, Diba and Cameron, the staff members, addressed it promptly and efficiently

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I wish I had known before moving in is that parking at The Kell is quite expensive. Additionally, the parking gate was stuck open for a few months, which compromised the security that we are paying for. While the overall experience has been positive, with great location and supportive management, these parking issues have been a significant concern.

Love the modern design of the flat and energy efficiency, security features, the bike shed, rooftop garden and Chatham dock. The balcony with the beautiful views is the top selling point for me. I’ve just moved in and looking forward to what the night view would be like.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Love the calmness of the area and view of the river and also the superstore within walking distance.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Haven’t raised any issues yet but I have every confidence should there be a need to.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I’m quite satisfied and have nothing to raise or comment on.

Shaky start but things have certainly improved in the last year. Very happy with the current management (Diba and Cameron), and would recommend to anyone.

The development had some hiccups initially with water damage because of pipes bursting etc, however there has been great improvement since. The building management has also greatly improved, with Diba and Cameron being here there’s been a change in atmosphere. They’re approachable, they’re attentive and very proactive in ensuring we as tenants are comfortable and happy. My experience with them has been very pleasant, it is because of them that I recently renewed my lease with them for long term. My only concern is with the gate not working, giving free access to the property and the parking lot.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The scarcity of restaurants within walking distance with views of the water is a disappointment. There was previously talks of lifestyle centre being built below the residences, looking into Chatham docks etc and this has not been done. There’s also no parking for visitors yet there are facilities for hosting visitors.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Current management has been very responsive, they’ve been professional and transparent in their communication.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I knew about the number of pets in the building, and the fact that although there are cameras up in and around the building, actually getting any footage is not possible. Seeing cameras all over the building gave me a sense of safety and security, however when I needed access to check who had hit my vehicle I was denied and given what felt like the run around. That said, this was with the building managers who were here before the current management.
