Great place to live in East London

Harry (Tenant)

May 2024

Living in my development has been excellent. The modern design is stylish, and the facilities, including a gym and games room, are top-notch. Management is efficient and responsive, keeping everything well-maintained. Overall, it's a wonderful place to live, and I highly recommend it.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Living in Halo offers a great mix of convenience and options. The range of local shops is impressive with Westfield Stratford City practically on your doorstep. There are lots of dining options of high-quality and the area has plenty of green spaces with the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park nearby. Public transport is highly accessible, with Stratford station providing connections via the Underground, Overground, DLR, and National Rail.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management promptly addresses any issues I've raised. Their approach ensures problems are swiftly resolved.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I wish I had known before moving in is how quickly the gym equipment gets busy during peak hours. It would have been helpful to plan my workouts accordingly or perhaps invest in some home equipment to supplement.

I don't have any major issues with the development. The tower has good facilities such as gym, concierge, and game room. The management is prompt in answering to any concerns and questions. They regularly hold meeting with the residents to keep in touch with them.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The local area is full of options for shops, restaurants. It is nearby Elizabeth Olympic park which provides a good option to go for walk or running.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The folio agent is good but sometime slow in response.

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature of the home is the furnishings and the layout.

Excellent building to live in

The building is broadly well designed, although for the number of floors I would prefer one or two more lifts - the building only has three, so when one is not working getting downstairs can be slow. The facilities are good with an on-site gym and games room with good views.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Excellent location with the Olympic park close by (although the amount of building work that has been/is still going on is a shame), Westfield is an easy walk away so plenty of shops, restaurants, and a couple of bars. Stratford station has good links into the City and further, while Pudding Mill Lane is close by if you prefer the DLR.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management has been responsive and helpful, although there haven't been many issues needed to be raised.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is a lot of building work going on in the Olympic park (offices, new flats, etc.) which means the area is starting to become more built up, losing some of the park-like feel.

Halo is good value for money

Facilities are okay the gym could be way better and the lifts are very scary. I’ve been stuck twice, the concierge is nice. I would recommend the building to please to something about the lifts as they are very scary. Overall the condition of the flat was very nice and the view is also amazing

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Due to the ongoing construction on the property inconvenience is being caused however overall the area is very nice

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building has always given a quick response to and repairs that needed to be done

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the ongoing construction will be going on till the end of my tenancy

An excellent living space.

The apartment development is great. There are small escape rooms which include a snooker table and the gym is convenient. The building is maintained well (e.g. kept clean) and the recent refurbishment of the lobby area is testimony to this, given it looked good before but the upgrade has since made it feel better.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The local area is fantastic, with major sporting facilitates, shopping, entertainment venues and restaurants alike. The Elizabeth line has made travel into Central London even easier.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very promptly. Had the heating system fail and be entirely replaced within the same day. Similarly, during a flood it was relatively quick, although missing parts meant it took longer than ideal.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There are lots of nice canal routes around the area which are great for morning walks.
