Avoid – much more modern places.

It is close to town is the only perk and dogs being allowed to live here is a good perk, they provide rubbish drops so don’t need to take bins out.

Please review your development:

There is no gym or cinema room here, or study room. no such additional services exsist. It is pet friendly but the apartments are not built for pets – cream carpets, white walls and impossible to clean. The customer service is extremely poor and unsatisfactory, the place needs a full refurbishment with a new lettings management in order to compete with more modern complexes now.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The fire alarm goes off all the time and there is never an explanation why. There is a lack of safety in the building with tenants being blamed for tailgating and being asked to check people’s fobs when this is the agents responsibility.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They are only interested in having the upperhand, they are notorious to tenants for providing a poor service and think they make the rules. Many tenants have left and are leaving.

Great facilities and convenient area – but some notable downsides to the building design that can impact quality of life

Positives:
Ecclesall Road is just a few minutes walk away so good amount of cafes, restaurants, ALDI and Waitrose etc within walking distance. There’s a GP ten minutes walk away too.
Good bus access – also few minutes walk away – and will get you into city centre and some areas of the peaks.

Negatives:
Non-reserved parking appears to be difficult, but we don’t have a car so this is only based on our guests reports rather than a daily issue we deal with. There is also onsite parking.
Quite a lot of noise from streets, but that’s expected considering the area. Only notice it when need windows open during the night.

Please review your development:

Positives:
On-site staff are all brilliant and professional, so 5/5 for them. They definitely do everything that they can to support residents.
Whilst the hot apartments are a huge negative in summer (see below), it is lovely in winter and means you don’t need to put your heating on.
Facilities are fantastic – coworking space, rooftop lounge, a pet terrace and 24/7 gym are very luxurious. Social events are frequently run and they also provide free food & drinks, which is lovely.

Negatives:
Seems there’s quite frequently staffing issues but that hasn’t personally impacted me (although bear in mind some days you may need to make accommodations to collect parcels earlier that the stated closing time for reception etc).

Building design looks attractive and is generally functional, but there are some glaring issues including
incredibly hot apartments (I would say could become unsafely hot for vulnerable people and pets if/when temps go above 30 degrees celcius) and building regulations prevent windows from opening all of they way. I have a disability and would not recommend these apartments to others just based on this point.
There seem to be some building-wide issues that management either do not want to fix or are fixing incredibly slowly. These include faulty extractors fans that create overwhelmingly loud noises, and boilers that seem to work inconsistently and require us using the boost button to work (ours was fine until one day it just began only semi-working. Onsite staff were great and tried to help and got us electricians out twice, but the issue is still not fully resolved).

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Our electricity bills are quite high for a one bedroom flat with 2 people and normal electricity usage, so I wonder if this is due to the boiler setup? Or the dehumidifier?

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Issues are usually quickly dealt with from a customer service perspective, but I don’t think that the solutions are always satisfactory. One issue was the dehumidifier/extractor – somebody was sent to look at this, but those workmen told us that it was an issue of replacement and that they could do nothing to help. The fan is incredibly loud and has become an issue for me from a disability standpoint. When we asked, we were informed that the building management was in the process of fixing this, but we’re unsure how long this process will take. Many people in the building have the same issue, so it is not an isolated issue.

Worthwhile move to Kangaroo works

Review Date Aug 2024

We wanted to live in the heart of the city area of Sheffield for a long while and really enjoy it! Super convenient place to live, despite being so central the building is quiet and peaceful. Very happy we’ve moved here

Please review your development:

We’re loving everything about the development, the staff are really friendly and helpful and the building design is really nice, modern and well kept. The services and amenities are excellent too, we love how pet friendly it is to live here. Its a great location and really nice atmosphere.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The wifi has been quite difficult to adjust to, given some devices we own aren’t fully compatible with a wifi you have to log into. However we’ve managed to connect them eventually

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very quickly and professionally, problems have been addressed within 24 hours

modern place with friendly neighbours and in a good location

It’s great living right next to a Tesco and with a dog, right by ponderosa park too. Traffic noise can be load on school days and during the holidays though.
Easy to travel from with bus, tram and simple walking routes into town.

Please review your development:

I really enjoy this development, a modern place with friendly neighbours and in a good location.

Smaller kitchen than I would have liked and slightly thinner walls than I’d like but plenty of benefits as well. Mainly the fact it’s dog friendly is great and the location is not too bad either. Good amount of space for a single person.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How hot and uncomfortable it can get in the summer and general heat

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, a few issues that have been resolved very quickly via email
