The ‘old’ town centre of Runcorn is less than a mile away, with a great offering of highstreet shops and supermarkets. Whilst the new Shopping City Runcorn is still just two and a half miles from the development for bigger superstores and further leisure amenities. With the station also just around the corner, residents have quick and easy access to Manchester, Liverpool and Warrington.

Some of the finishing aspects in our home ie the french doors these are not set up correctly so there is a gust of wind coming through at all times.. but we still love it here. The design is perfect for us and our family. We didnt even view the home before we agreed to rent the property

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Runcorn is slightly run down but we arr from the area and we knew this already, the warehouse at the back of our home can be loud at times but all in all its a great home

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They respond fast and informative but slow at actioning the repairs.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Nothing really.. our family members already had a property in st helens

The design of the homes is prefect for our family. Also we have amazing and helpful neighbours. Property management have been very helpful whenever we needed any fix or with any queries. Overall we are very pleased with management and facilities here in holystone bank.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I stay at Holystone Bank development in Runcorn and it’s the most beautiful and convenient location. Having high street nearby is very convenient for groceries, shops and pubs. Canal and river view is beautiful to look across. The only downside is sometimes the smell from the factory across the river is too much.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Property management have been very helpful whenever we needed any fix or with any queries.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Only thing I can share is the view is amazing from the development.

Homes are lovely and everything is so simple living here

Everything is great. Homes are lovely and everything is so simple living here. My house is open plan which is great, garden is massive! I've got 2 bedrooms which are nice and spaceious. I've always felt really looked after here, the customer service is great. I've lived here now 4 years and i couldn't see myself living anywhere else. The views from the homes looking over the river mersey are always a dream

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Amazing, we are so close to everything here. We are right on the water front which is beautiful. Shops and pubs are all local and also so is the train station and the bridge into Liverpool you can see from our homes.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Great i've had a couple of issues raised and they have always been resolved

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Simple life really look after there tenants with all the added extras such as santa at christmas and the pizza van which comes

Expensive rent with little to show for it

David (Tenant)

Design of the house is poor with the back wall being dedicated to a large window/double door, this would be ideal if the kitchen was at the back not the living room. Value for money is poor as rent is very expensive and state of the garden is shocking (slight downpour leaves the grass like a swamp and the back gate regularly jams as it’s all wooden fencing so it grows/shrinks with the temperature). Only real good thing I’ve had from Simple Life was sponsorship for my son’s football team.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

No shops/bars or any amenities nearby, and very little open space to actually visit. Transport is bad unless you walk 10-15 mins for a bus stop. That being said, it does makes the area quiet and free from traffic.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

By coming out eventually only to say nothing else they’re willing to do.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the grass was going to be a swamp and corners were clearly cut when building.

Hi David, We're sorry to hear that you're no longer happy with the location of your development and the house type chosen. As we have many other locations across the country and lots of different property types, we'd love to help you find an alternative better suited to your needs when your current lease comes to an end. We're also sorry to hear that you're having problems with your gardens. Without seeing any identifiable information we are unable to look in to your records, but usually if a garden has been inspected and no works carried out, it is because it has been concluded that the garden meets with NHBC guidelines and that any surface water can be managed with correct care and maintenance of the garden.

Here since the start.

I have lived on the development since it was first released and I like that it is quite small and compact. My neighbours are nice and there are rarely any issues. I have had to report issues and they have been fixed, not always in a timely manner. The location of the development means we deal with adverse weather very often. (Wind blowing directly from the Mersey) I don’t think this was considered and often the range I report is due to this.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There isn’t much to do locally to the development I live on. Runcorn is renowned for not keeping up with the time and more things close rather than open.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I have discussed this above. It is hard to get things sorted and often various contractors are used which makes communication difficult. Things do get attended to but when I have asked about the 4 years of wear and tear within the house this isn’t discussed. It wojld be nice if things like wood fixtures etc could be repainted as they would be for a new tenant. The lack of things like this makes it feel like there is not reward or positivity for loyal tenants.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

What the weather would be like living so close to the waterfront.
