Great place to live.

This place is nice to live, local amenities are nearby. The house sizes are on the smaller side but acceptable. Neighourbhood is good and neighbours are helpful and caring. Have been here in last four years, neither had any problems. Very safe to live. Internet is very slow and a pain, no Broadband facilities although they are available 200 yards away. Pity!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

This place is really nice to live, even it is located in Oldham but separated from rest of the area, very calm and peaceful. The only bed aspect which I think and I really suffered with this problem is slow internet. Virgin Media and others are just around the corner but they are not moving inside our area to give us faster broadband.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management usually responds in time sometimes there can be a delay but usually the problem is resolved

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I think there is nothing bad living here only downside is the size of the houses is a bit on the smaller side but I don't regret my decision moving here. Internet speed is a pain. 4 years now but still no Broadband.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're delighted to hear that you enjoy living at Durban Mill with Simple Life. Thank you for your feedback regarding the internet, unfortunately this is out of our control as it is down to the local internet providers in your area, however we would recommend reporting this to them directly, so hopefully they will look to improve the internet speeds offered within the neighbourhood in future. If you would like to look at a slightly larger property on the same development, then please get in touch toward the end of your current tenancy term and we would be happy to assist.

Lovely quiet area, large houses and good prices

the houses are very spacious and modern looking, Your allowed to paint an make it your own as well which I really appreciate. The carpets are in great condition and the kitchens are huge and spacious, you get a nice sized garden and there is a good online portal are requesting help or fixes to the property

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

10 minute drive from tescos/aldi's and asda. There is a small asda a short walk away. Bus links into town centre very good and frequent. Would be good if it were closer to a tram stop. bin collections come well and never miss. There was an anti social tenant living a few doors down but they seemed to have gone now, it's a very family oriented site with lots of kids playing and I love that animals are allowed in the houses as it's nice being able to keep your pets with you and also see other cats and dogs.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Any property issues are responded to quickly and dealt with for us. But we have barely had any issues to raise

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Nothing really, everything was clear when moving in, the process was quick and simple

Hi Ashleigh, Thank you for your review of your Simple Life development. We're sad to see you wouldn't recommend us as your landlord despite the positive feedback. Understandably, we can see you're frustrated by the situation regarding a pet application. As we cannot identify you via Home Views, please could you make contact with you Asset Manager and one we can identify you, we can ensure you are given clarity over the matter.

We have adapted very well. Very clean and welcoming. Some small rooms but nice kitchen and bathrooms. Pretty and spacious garden for children. Two storage rooms which come in very handy as they are very useful for storage and keeping things tidy around the house.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Mostly good neighbours. Nice and peaceful area.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

It has been okay, not the best and quickest management but it gets done in the end.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

A small tip that I would give is to set and decorate your house well as all houses are nicely decorated.

Overall a great place to live

Overall the house and estate are very typical of modern new builds. Look good and so far are quite sturdy. They do feel as though the idea was build quick and cheap with some of the doors and fixtures though. The layout is excellent and I personally feel it works remarkably well for the space downstairs. Bedrooms could be a little larger as ours is 2.5 bed at best (advertised as a 3 bed, realistically 2 with an office). You can get full fibre Internet with magnificent speed so well worth it if this is of key interest. No trouble with any neighbours either, so far everyone has been quite friendly. The rear garden is where there could be more thought, as at the moment it is just plain grass with cheap fencing. Ots tough to keep it looking nice without sonking lots of your own money into it. Some design or offer to help make the rear garden into something a bit more exciting and ecologically diverse would be an excellent idea, especially with the companies sustainabile aims. The front is well designed and looks good, it is also kept by simple life so continues to be so. Overall the whole area is clean and the house is as good as we can expect so no complaints, just observations.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area of this estate is overall good, its quiet without being too far from any imenities, there are a number of local shops and you are close to other services such as gp and a pharmacy. Parks and open spaces are limited but there is larger parks available after a short drive. On street parking is limited due to the streets design but individual house usually have plenty for residents. Bin collections are great with a large allocation for recycling etc. There are very few issues as it is a closed estate, however you do get school kids walk through from the local academy so littering does occur occasionally.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Mostly excellent, there has only been one occasion where I was waiting to hear back about a repair. It is now fixed however. The fixflo service is great though and helps keep you up to date with the process.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Great place to live. Make sure you can drive though as a lot of the better amenities are too far away to walk Easily.

What’s it like living in Oldham..

Chris S (Tenant)

The inside of the house is quite neutral and is a blank canvas for you to decorate as you like. The kitchen is of good design and has good lighting as there are 4 skylights. The living space is of good size with parking for 2 cars at the side of the house. My only complaint is that the garden space is built on a slant so doesn’t make it good for your garden furniture.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Our home has good motorway links with a small drive to any of the big name supermarkets. The street is reasonably quiet with a very short walk to Merton playing fields to walk your dog.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

When the boiler broke, they sent someone out within 2 days and the same when the dishwasher broke.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Just the back garden being on a slant as when it rains, all the water and mud settles right outside your back door
