Woodnook is good maintenance was poor

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Always rubbish in the back alleys, the property had consistent damp issues which took over a year to fix from raising a complaint

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

It took a year to resolve a damp request which was due to faulty leak in the back door with two kids in the property

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

You can hear quite easily through the walls so hear neighbours often and the alarm system in the properties are known to be faulty and beep intermittently ever 60 seconds and no action to resolve it

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good: - Good location in terms of plenty of local amenities and local schools within walking distance, about a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute drive to the marina which has plenty of restaurants and shops and the occasional market. - Local navy museum on the marina which is a nice little day out, also a few beaches within a 15 minute drive. - Despite there being a fair amount of crime in Hartlepool, we've had no direct experience of this in our 3 years of living here. - Train station is only a 10-15 minute walk and there are bus stops everywhere so travelling isn't an issue. - Frequent bin collection happens weekly with alternating bin type every other week (recycling one week, general waste the next). - Street cleaning truck recently came down to clear up the back alley which is often dumped in by the neighbouring street (not part of The Green development) and have done a really nice job, I hope this stays frequent. Not so good: - Although The Green itself is a lovely little area and I've had no personal issues with neighbours, the surroundings streets are very run down with some unpleasant people wandering typically at night. - Parking is available when the football's not on. Sadly the residential streets are not resident permit parking only so anyone has free right to park wherever they want so when the football is on at the local stadium our streets often get flooded with cars.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Assured me they would have someone come to resolve any maintenance issues and he has so far been true to his word. They would also reach out after a couple of weeks to make sure the issue has been resolved effectively.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How busy the street parking gets when the football is on at the local stadium. As I often struggle to walk long distance and can't carry much weight it becomes a real hinderance if I need to unload my car of any shopping etc. but I have to park halfway down the street or the next street over.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Close to local convenience shops and walking distance to town. It is a quiet area with a lovely grass area right outside which is great for little dog walks and has plenty of bins and few benches. Plenty of parking available.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

It was handled very quickly and didn't hesitate to get it fixed. Brilliant service.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The key for the gate HD a £5 deposit that can be obtained from the council. The council do come and clean up the back every now and then. You don't need to put the bins out as they are able to get to them.the gassed area is well maintained and often.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Nice neighbourhood, considering it is in Beeston Close to city centre, most importantly pet friendly!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Not bad in solving problems. But sometimes there are miscommunication errors. Someone said something, someone forgot. Someone assumed..

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Mould problem is not great. They tried to solve it, but i think its is black mould from the groind, and it is affecting our health. Winter months, has to be cleaned twice a week. After the repairs, we will see how it will be this winter. Even though i can allready see some areas that it is reappearing again and it is summer now. Once got sent a letter to ventilate the home by opening windows and that sounded a little in appropriate

Scholars View, DH5

Jul 2024

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Scholars view is perfect. While there were some issues in 2022 with the neighbouring council estates, Placefirst has done an amazing job. Shops and other local amenities are all close by. If you drive you can be in Durham, Sunderland or Newcastle in no time. The availability of takeaways is amazing as well.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Amazingly. No time wasted and great work done. Perfect

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known how close Scholars view is to all these big cities. Gateshead, Newcastle, Durham, Sunderland, Stockton and so many more cities can be reached in 30 minutes or less. It’s always easy to go anywhere. Leaving London I was worried about being cut off from big cities. However no concern anymore.
