Perfect place to live

Mark L (Tenant)

Verified Resident

Jan 2024

My house is very nicely designed and decorated, very spacious and generous rooms, plenty of light from windows and very well maintained and very well insulated for colder months saving on energy bills etc, well designed kitchen and bathroom, clean and tidy.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Perfect place to live, i have had no problems living here and the bin collections are very speedy and clean

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very quick response to any problems I've had and great communication.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The bin collections are very easy to get use to as it's communal.

Poor quality of finish and lack of care

A (Tenant)

Verified Resident

Jan 2024

The overall development of the property is satisfactory, but there are significant concerns about the quality of the finishing in our home. Approximately half of the living space was inadequately finished, contrary to the assurance that we were moving into a place that would be cleaned and refurbished to a 'like new' condition. Upon moving in, we discovered incomplete carpet installations, including one room with gum stuck in the carpet and visible signs of wear. When we brought these issues to the attention of the landlord, their response was that a carpet clean would not be carried out as they deemed the marks to be remnants from the previous tenancy. In addition to the carpeting concerns, there are various issues throughout the property: Kitchen: Condensation in windows High-pitched noise from the extractor at times Improperly installed fridge bottom vent Cleaning deficiencies not meeting professional standards Missing cabinet 'stoppers' Inadequately fixed dishwasher Scuffs on the wall (corner) Wooden panel under the dishwasher falling off and not properly fitted Dining Room: Chips in the floor Marks on the door frame (front door) Paint marks on the toilet door Living Room: Marks on the walls Radiator side not properly fitted Bedroom One: Scuff marks on the corner of the wall Various marks on the walls Mould on windows Marks on the window frame Bedroom Two: Marks on the wall Marks on the door frame Bedroom Three: Various stains on the carpet Gum-like substance stuck in the carpet Bathroom: Stains on flooring Stains on skirting board Stains on the wall Uncleaned sink (underneath) Rust on the radiator Holes on the bath wall Cracked paint in various spots Despite reporting these issues to Placefirst, no action has been taken to address any of these concerns.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is fine, there was a lot of anti-social behaviour in the beginning but that seems to be less so now. Otherwise it's fine.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Mixture of being ignored and being rectified. Often need to chase up problems as solutions don't come or are forgotten about. Sometimes we just don't report anymore as it's too much effort to just get ignored.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Wish the commitment to 'as new' was true, since this was false we felt misled.

Good neighbourhood but can be better.

MI (Tenant)

The property design is cool with needed facilities. However, there's a need for improvement in regards to building & property management. Especially, at being prompt in resolving issues related to the property. The out-of-hours maintenance team needs to be supportive and understanding. However, the building manager, who works during the daytime, is incredible and so supportive.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The property is situated in a serene residential environment, hence, access to local shops etc is limited. Though you would still be able to get things locally, you're better off going to the city centre. Living in the street is cool, and parking availability and bin collection are top-notch. Traffic noise is almost zero. There have been some anti-social behaviours in the past, but they've stopped in recent times.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yeah, they seem to receive most complaints but actually fixing it can take forever, depending on what needs to be fixed. However, they will eventually resolve all complaints.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the out-of-hours maintenance support team only receive calls but won't do anything to fix issues that arise over the weekend or at night. They seem to be detached/unaware from the overall maintenance of the property.

A 5 star apartment

Phillip (Tenant)

Verified Resident

Jan 2024

I came into England,Sheffield precisely and a friend recommended wren crescent, skye edge avenue. I secured the apartment and it’s been awesome. The house is Solid, environment is serene and i enjoy other luxuries like free car park space upto 2 cars for one resident, low council tax been a class A,warm house, the grass maintainance, bin house maintainance and lots more. Overall,it’s a 5 star apartment

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There are shops around which are accessible which one of them is about 3 mins walk from Skye edge. The street is not a noisy area and hardly does anyone encounter parking issues. The bins are collected every week and anti-social behaviour is well curbed.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They respond very quickly and issues are been fixed promptly

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

When I came in,i fell in love with houses with garden. During summer,it would be nice to enjoy the weather with the family. I should have rented a house with garden

Great overall

Modestas B (Tenant)

The building management seems great and the property manager is down to earth reasonable and approachable. Personally primary reason of paying a bit of a premium on pricing is the clear and easy property management. Nice aesthetically with modern design that doesn’t look like a dystopian block.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There are plenty of open space and greenery visible from most windows in the house as well as outside areas. Breathtaking views of the city during the evenings. Transport links a bit tricky to get to if you rely on tram, however bus route is easily accessible. Haven’t witnessed any antisocial behaviour within the immediate area however there is some on the outskirts that doesn’t trickle in very often at all. Bin collections consistent and to a good level, however can get a bit full depending on season.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Immediately, was impressed with how swift a solution was offered.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I don’t think there is much, the moving process was very comprehensive and the manager was open to questions.
