The design of the house is good, fixtures and fittings are of a good standard but poorly fitted and in general require attention after moving in , as everything appears to have been installed on the hurry up . In general the brickwork is dirty and untidy due to different crews and mortar being used . Gardens are clay and builders rubble covered by turf which eventually struggles or die .Plants at the front of the properties tend to suffer the same . Property Management is none existent. Management ?

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Local shops need Improving as they aren’t very inviting, virtually all the new build residential travel to Chesterfield/ Sheffield for variety ,and choice. Open spaces are none existent but there are plenty if you’re prepared to travel. There are no transport links on the development, the streets are reasonably quiet except for large builder’s vehicles during the week due to on going construction work , there is no parking for visitors , bin collection is good, there is anti social behaviour in Bolsover.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Should have really questioned the site plan scale / spent more time walking around the development and looking at the proximity of houses/ asked questions on specific time scales for completion of roads and footpaths and not accept verbal possibly time scales from sales staff. Ask for a firm completion date of your phase .

What is the best feature of your home:

My review of the development is exactly the same as my previous review re the house looks like a prison. As for the property management, where do you want me to start? They are all rubbish and that is being kind. Apart from most of the houses need more than snagging, they have been built the wrong way round so the estate is in constant turmoil. There is a certain driver of a truck that races around the estate thinking he’s in the F1 yet not one site manager tells him to drive properly. Jones needs to take a massive look at themselves!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Bad aspect - why have Jones homes put high fencing up all the way around the new house being built on the corner by the island? It looks like a prison. Call themselves signature!!!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We wish that we had been shown the house BEFORE we ere expected to complete. They did this because they wanted money. It was obvious they couldn’t care less about the fact that the house hadn’t been finished properly -disgusting!

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature is that we have trees at the end of our garden.

Great location, it’s just the poor quality of the trades they are using which is disappointing, after sales is not great, they really need to think about what has gone off with our property and address the failures, Jones Homes have lost their values that has took them years to build

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

We are extremely disappointed with the quality of the new house we have just purchase from Jones Homes on their so called Signature development at the Van Dyke Village, over 300 issues found when we walk through the door, we understand new properties have snags however the quality of workmanship is disgraceful, we asked to speak with the Director of Jones Homes to ask the question, who checks the work of the trades working in the house, his response was he checks all properties, right!!!, 349 issues raised, why have they let a customer purchase a new house because it’s not a home, when there are so many snags, it’s clear they don’t care about the customer, all the comms you read about Jones Homes stating they have attention to detail is complete untrue, I believe this company has lost its values when it comes to customer experience, we’ve purchased three properties from the company over the last 20 years and they have lost their way, we think they have got complacent, they need to remember with out customers they have no business, I hope our experience is a one off however I’d hate another family to go through what we have experienced, you move into your dream home only to realise it’s actually a nightmare, I’m sure we have just been unlucky and something has clearly gone wrong however be careful, we’ve probably got months of trades coming into our house to rectify these issues which when your are struggling with mental health issues it’s not what you want. Don’t think the construction team are hear to help, they may have the qualifications to understand house building but please don’t let them speak with customers, they just don’t have the skills to try and reassure you that these issues will be addressed, Jones Homes, please take our experience as reality, don’t lose what’s happening with your customers from basic failures, your a great company which needs to reflect on what’s really happening outside the head office doors, this could have a major impact on your reputation. We understand you have a duty to put the issues right and we believe you will, sometimes it’s best to do things right in the first place than address these once the customer moves in, I’m no expert however this must have a financial impact on your business not to start and detail the damage this can have to your reputation with treating customers like bricks, if you purchased a car for £610,000, it would come off the production line, it would go into a quality check before the customers is handed the keys, you would not expect to have to keep taking the car back to the showroom with 300 defects, come on Jones Homes, really!!!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The build quality, the attention to detail is really poor

What is the best feature of your home:

The location is perfect, it’s a shamed about the quality

Lovely houses with minor issues

Design of the houses are great, really aesthetically pleasing. Suitable well thought out internal layout for families Builders have been very poor post sale in fixing remedial works. Facilities on such a big estate are extremely poor - not even a park for children!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Parking availability is poor on the street, driveways not big enough and no space to park on the road. Location is good Facilities of such a big estate are extremely poor, no local shop, promised primary school still not built. No childrens park

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Most issues have been dealt with, some we just sorted ourselves as it was less stressful

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the primary school wasn't going to be built. We solely moved here on the promise the school would be open before our daughter was of school age, we have lived here 3 years and no plans have even been submitted for the school. Our daughter attends a school out of our catchment area.

Excellent place to live with good service and quality

The property management is good in which the staff will contact you regularly to ask if there's any problems. For us, our new built house is excellent that we don't have any big problem but some defects instead. Though we need some time to follow up with the site manager, it's been done in good condition finally.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It's a good place which it takes only 5-10 mins drive, you can go to the local shops and cafe. Our family can go for a walk nearby but it would be better to have the play area nearby.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Though it takes some times to contact the site manager to follow up with the defects but the outcome is excellent.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It's an excellent place where you can build your own community with very good neighborhood.
