"Many developments we looked at felt like they were just a faceless high rise and we wanted to make friends and meet like minded people. Greenwich Millennium Village has been perfect for us, with so many facilities on site and the open park areas you don’t feel that you are living in a city. We have also made lots of friends through the nursery and primary school." – Margot, resident at Greenwich Millennium Village Countryside properties reviews "This area is very nice and quiet, nice people and very clean , lovely looking buildings , and local shops, maintained daily , there is plenty of green space , also has nice views, local schools and close to public transport." – Clare, verified resident at St Paul's Square Click on the developments below to read Countryside homes reviews from residents. Houses are built to a high standard and provide pretty much everything you need in terms of built in white goods. The reset completed between private tenants is to a high standard (depending on the owners of course). The houses are well suited for families of all ages and have decent sized gardens are well as extra communal green space. While each house is on a decent sized plot, the roads do have a bit of a maze like feel.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There is a rather limited selection of local shops and restaurants available in the area however there is enough to get you by if you need to pop out for some milk. Most properties do have driveways available however street parking tends to be most peoples preference, often clogging up walkways but your never short of a parking space. While being a mostly quiet area as with most places there is the occasional anti-social event, usually local kids being kids. Dog mess is also a common issue across the area

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The walls between rooms and houses are very thin and don’t provide a great deal of sound proofing, so I would suggest scoping out your neighbours first.

What is the best feature of your home:

The kitchen is very well fitted and great for those moving with little to no white goods.

The area is pleasant to look at and live in, some of the roads are very narrow though and a lot of the newest properties have almost unusably narrow driveways. It's generally kept well maintained though sometimes with large gaps in service. There is a mix of cultures and rented and owned properties.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Excellent immediate facilities for schools, GP, supermarkets, good road links and bus routes, lacking a local train station. The area is predominantly clean and sociable, nice and quiet and good for families and pets with convenient and well maintained parks nearby. There is a shortage of nearby bars and restaurants which is a mixed blessing.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Lack of pubs from when we first moved in, however this turned out not to be a problem.

What is the best feature of your home:

The quietness and convenience of the location making it family friendly.

Great location, good development!

Great building design, over 3 floors. Spacious well equipped kitchen. Good double sized bedrooms, holds plenty of space for storage. Excellent size back garden and front garden with accessible driveway. Trees were planted at the front of the property when built and these now appear to be over grown and block out light at the front of the properties. Due to owning own property not much to do with building/property management.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Local shops and amenities in vicinity. Walking distance to city centre. Good links to public transport and bus stops close to estate. No problems encountered with bin collections. Very little traffic noise. Lots of people have started to park on the estate to commute into town, making the street quite cramped with vehicles.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish we had more understanding about the lease hold clauses.

What is the best feature of your home:

The light spacious kitchen and large back garden spac.

Do not buy from countryside homes

It’s a nice development and very quiet at times. The major downside would be the day your house is 2 years old countryside homes completely wash their hands of you. And the NHBC certificate they give you isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. Also the constant flow of Essex police cars going to the housing association flats to sort out the drug problems can be a bit frustrating

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It’s a long walk into town. Bus service is ok especially if you want to go to Stansted airport for £2. Local pub the king William is very clicky and the landlady is not very welcoming

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The fact countryside do not care about you. The rip off maintenance company. The NHBC certificate isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. The constant flow of police officers going to the housing association flats. The fencing that’s falling over in our back garden. The park that we have been paying for has never been finished. The paths are all cracking up. The lack of lighting on the walkways. The litter is never picked up. The place looks like a jungle because the grass is never cut. Lack of trees that should have been planted

What is the best feature of your home:

The front door. We can’t wait to get out of it. The fact that our roof tiles have fallen off after 2 years is not a good sign. We can’t wait to move. Do not buy a new build home. They are paper thin and not built very well. Always problems with something. If it’s not the boiler it’s something else with the hot water system or the heating

I have no complaints about the design of my flat or the buildings

Ollie B (Shared Owner)

Acton Gardens, W3

May 2024

I have no complaints about the design of my flat or the buildings, which, in my experience, have always been kept very clean. Property management/those who work on maintenance are always friendly and happy to have a conversation. The on-site gym opposite sainsburys is a massive bonus now.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I have now been in my flat for over two years and I absolutely love it. Chiswick high street is a 10 minute walk, as is Acton town centre. The transport links via tube and bus are brilliant, London is extremely accessible from either Acton Town or South Acton stations. I have seen very little anti-social behaviour during my time here and feel very comfortable living here.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The under-floor heating - if left off for a long period of time - can stop working. This is especially frustrating in winter as the heating hasn't been on over summer and has required a fix both years. The heating pump can become stuck if not used regularly and the advice from the engineer is to run the heating at least once a week, even in summer.

What is the best feature of your home:

My space feels very comfortable, it is a nice spacious one-bed flag and the bathroom, living room and bedroom are all perfect in my opinion.
