Brixton station

Lambeth’s north

In its northern pocket, you can take a stroll along the waterside. Here you will discover big-hitters like the National Theatre, the Tate Modern, and the Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. All of which are neighboured by a good mix of pubs and bars with a front-row view of the river. Lambeth Palace is another local star, a spectacular Medieval structure and the home of the Archbishop of Canterbury.  The Imperial War Museum also provides a lovely, moving day out; a fitting tribute to those affected by the past world’s conflicts.

Vauxhall new flats

Cultural melting pot

There’s a hypnotising, cosmopolitan feel to these parts. Places like Stockwell and Kennington have a Latin flavour, their high streets packed with cutesy tapas joints and Portuguese establishments serving fresh seafood. Over in vivacious Brixton, the area’s Afro-Caribbean roots shine, with reggae bars playing exotic beats until late, and an amazing foodie scene that incorporates street stalls sizzling with specialities like jerk chicken and ackee and saltfish. Hootananny is a much-loved hostel-come-nightclub that works to showcase the area’s diversity, with events dedicated to everything from hip-hop to salsa. And we can’t talk about the area without mentioning 02 Academy Brixton, an award-winning venue for music, theatre and comedy.

Property & transport

Lambeth’s residential options are vast, ranging from swish riverfront apartments to elegant period townhouses. Whatever you’re after, expect easy access to London’s centre. Three tube stations – Lambeth North, Waterloo and Southwark – get residents from A to B via the Northern line.

HomeViews reviewer says…
“The location is central and very well connected within easy reach of much of Central London both on foot and via the tube. Traffic can be quite congested and slow, there is also a fair amount of noise from the streets.”

Love the apartment

Review Date Aug 2024

The location is perfect, near the tube and a huge Sainsbury. The environment is quite satisfying too. But there is a construction area nearby, which is loud in the daytime

Please review your development:

Facilities are nice and well equipped. Especially the heating and cooling system, which is perfect.
Haven’t talked with the receptionists, but they looked nice.
But the room design is awful. No rooms are in square shape, which is hard to put furniture appropriately.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish to know the average electricity fee. It would be great if you could calculate and summarize a number for the renter.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They responded quickly and nice. Really helpful guys.

While some aspects like room design and nearby construction are beyond our control, we will certainly look into providing more detail about the utility costs for our properties.

Great surroundings- transport links/many shops/restaurants etc… and a garden just under the building feels great. A very convenient location.

Please review your development:

The development is in an excellent condition especially when comparing with the old apartment towers where we used to live (South Kensington). The facilities are well designed and looking forward to make more use of it.

All members of the Mylo team that we have met are friendly, helpful and very professional, this is one of the reasons why we chose Mylo alongside its pet friendliness and we were lucky enough on our move in day to bump into some treat giving for pets that happen at times.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Parking permit (underground) for move in vans was very convenient and the whole process is really smooth.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Prompt responses, always there when help is needed and office is just in the building.

The Area is great. Supermarkets, gym, park, pharmacy and tube. All within a 10 minute walk. Very good location

Please review your development:

The staff is very friendly and the location is great. But for the entirety of my tenancy most of the washer dryers were broken and it’s very noisy with the football field across. I worked from home so I asked if it was quiet here and was told it was. It is very noisy in fact.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Noise. On the viewing they told me it was very quiet. My flat faces a football field that is always being used.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The initial reaction is always “you must be doing something wrong”. Eventually they realise not everything is user error and they fix it
