Lovely new building, stylish and facilities are on point!

Love the design in the communal spaces, everything looks very clean and tidy. Gym is very good with new equipment. Everyone at reception is nice and available to help. The post locker downstairs is great for receiving parcel when not in, and the terraces are lovely to watch sunsets from

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Location is good, less than 5 min walk from the underground station. Victoria line is ideal to get into central. Bin room and facilities are good, cannot hear any traffic noise either because of the triple glazed windows (we are on the second floor and next to the main road). There’s a big centre of shops at a 10min walk and a variety of food shops as well all in walking distance (Tesco, asda, Lidl, Iceland). Limited in terms of bars and restaurants but Islington and angel are only 2-3 stops away

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building management has been super quick to solve any issues and is always keen to help! Especially Erick and Imran have gone above and beyond to help us in different occasions.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Everything is as nice as we expected it to be in the viewing. One thing we are noticing lately is possibly the lack of bars/restaurants in the area but not a big deal if you don’t mind jumping on the Victoria line to head into central on the weekends. The canal is close so can still have a nice walk there when weather is nice.

Forget Hackney, move to The Gessner

This is by far the best home I have ever rented. After years of renting in Hackney where for the same money you mostly get small, old and mouldy flats, The Gessner has been life changing. The staff who look after the residents are really incredible - Kitti has been especially helpful with getting things fixed and she also takes the time to say hello and find out exactly how I am and how my dog is every day we see her - it really is the kind of service you'd get in a 5 star hotel. The rest of team always make an effort to make sure everything is perfect and complaints or asks are always taken care of promptly, enthusiastically and to a very high standard. Everything is followed up on and nothing is ignored. The apartment is exceptional, with a high standard of decoration and finishings - theres an HVAC system which makes the air inside the flat extremely high quality and the appliances are all very hi-spec. All of this adds up to a really high quality of life - with less time spent on things like washing, cooking and cleaning. There is lots of storage, lots of space, lots of light and no noise whatsoever can heard between the walls. The building itself is incredibly secure, which makes it easy to sleep at night. The amenities are excellent - the gym, private dining room, lounges, outside patio/garden and roof terraces mean that there is a sense of community and space to workout, relax and entertain effortlessly. Post and packages are handled in a seamless way and the team are always extra helpful when you need hand taking things up to your apartment. The final bit of icing on the cake that is The Gessner are all the classes and events - all included in the rent. Boxing, Yoga, Dog meet-ups, Summer BBQ's, drinks and community run clubs really do make this a unique and exciting place to live, but at the same time it never really feels forced or compulsory and you can dip in and out depending on your mood.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Very few bad aspects, but the neighbourhood is still undergoing a lot of development, so there are a lot of building sites around

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

All complaints, concerns or requests are taken care of promptly and they act almost immediately

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had moved here sooner! So much of the good stuff isn't really advertised

This is by far the best rental property!

Facilities inside the flat are all state of the art. Our flat comes furnished with Bosch oven, hob, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, microwave and dishwasher! Plenty of working spaces around the property - ideal for those working from home/hybrid working. Not to mention - the common areas are not just functional but unassumingly instagrammable!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The property is located just a few minutes walk away from Tottenham Hale station so you are practically a 15 minute tube/train ride away into Central London. I’m not a fan of the outdoors but I’ve heard the nearby wetlands is an idyllic setting for an afternoon (or weekend) rendezvous.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The onsite team is the best part of staying at the Gessner! You guys run a great service. Your timely and friendly response to all concerns was second to none and we honestly couldn't have had a better living experience. Thank you again! Big shoutout to Benedek for making the moving out process seamless. We would have loved to stay longer had we not bought a flat.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known of The Gessner way before than I actually did.

Nice new development, perhaps not in the best area

Sergey (Tenant)

New building with shared gym, terraces, co-working space. Dogs are allowed! Both apartments and shared spaces have nice design and are high quality. Friendly and helpful people at the reception, responsive management. The rent increase is quite significant over 2.5 years of our tenancy though. Very smooth move out and full return of our deposit.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

On the one hand, excellent transport connection (close to Victoria line / National rail stations), Asda/Tesco/Lidl/B&Q within walking distance. On the other hand, lack of local pubs/restaurants, shops, playgrounds for children.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Minor things may take some time to fix, but if something is urgent (we had broken apartment door handle and I could not enter the apartment) help comes quickly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Noisy road outside (closed windows help, but it's not an option for hot summer), endless constructions nearby.

Good place to live in

Polina I. (Tenant)

I love Gessner development. The design is beautiful, with an abundance of greenery and communal spaces that create a welcoming atmosphere. The presence of a gym is a fantastic addition, making it convenient to stay active. Overall, it's a well-planned and aesthetically pleasing place to call home, with excellent amenities and good management.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

On the positive side, there's good accessibility to the underground, making it easy to explore the city. Additionally, there are several large retail stores in close proximity, providing a wide range of shopping options. However, there is a noticeable lack of local shops, restaurants, and bars, which can be limiting for social and dining experiences.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management has been informed about the issue with the second pair of keys, and they are currently working on resolving it.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I wish I had known before moving in is that a new building is under construction nearby. It would have been helpful to be aware of the potential noise and disruptions during the construction process.

Hi Polina, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a positive review of The Gessner. We're glad you're enjoying your time here and making the most of the amenity spaces on offer, alongside the local area. We're aware of many more shopping, café and restaurant options that will be present in the area in the near future. We're communicating directly with those responsible for the Cannon Factory demolition, and working to ensure disruption is minimised for our residents. We have now provided a second set of keys for yourselves, and we apologise for the delay. Kind Regards, Joe
