Park Hill, by Urban Splash, sits just outside of Sheffield city centre. Designed by architects Mikhail Riches, these 1, 2 and 3 bedroom homes benefit from a large communal garden, a recently regenerated building and a unique design. As well as this, the development is just a 15-minute walk to Sheffield city centre making it an ideal location for people working in the city centre.

Can’t polish a turd

Not fit for purpose, dirty full of pigeon mess! Lifts always broke, rubbish left outside front doors, new student accommodation with hundreds of students making noise every night! Noise just echo’s throughout the complex, dogs everywhere! Urban Splash just after money and don’t give a toss about anything else! RMG management group do nothing, they walk round putting stupid fancy gates and fences up but don’t tackle the real issues. All residents are constantly moaning about the building, it’s not a nice place to live at all!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Great shop on site, which is nothing to do with Urban Splash that’s why it’s good! That’s the only good thing about the place. No bars or restaurants as promised! Drug dealing in the flats, anti social behaviour! £50 per month charge for car parking and can’t get a space. Not enforceable so non residents park and walk into town! Rubbish everywhere as no bins in the gardens! It’s an absolute mess!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

No response, they ignore you. If you rent you get non of the benefits that owners get! Which isn’t much anyway! They couldn’t care less about anything apart from money.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Looks good from afar but not fit for purpose! So noisy and dirty! Unsafe and active drug dealing in the building. All about Urban Splash making as much money as possible due to their debts. Constant tours and filming, again to make money! Can’t step outside without seeing a bus full of children or a film crew. Plus they film in the night and stop residents accessing parts of the building and grounds when filming, it’s ridiculous. Save your money and stay away from this mess is my advice.

I love the floor to ceiling windows as the views are fantastic. I never have any noise disturbance from neighbours which is great living in a flat. The area is lovely, there’s lots of green space around even though it is a city centre location. The community is great too.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I love living at Park Hill. The location is excellent with easy access to local trains & buses. The residents at park hill have tried to make it feel like a community and it has been successful. It is great area to live in.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The cost of heating the flat.

UrbanSplash are amazing, Dave in the sales office onsite is very helpful, the building management company not so much. Urbansplash Property team fast to resolve issues. Overall I love this place, the bills are very very cheap with a fantastic district heating system costing far less than the electric heaters in my last flat.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Opposite The city, 4 mins walk to the station & tram stop, bus station across the road. Fantastic location.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I would have known more about the building management company plumlife. The site is great & my experience with urbansplash has been second to none however the lift has taken a long time to repair.

What is the best feature of your home:

Exposed concrete, city views, community spirit & unbelievable build quality.

Absolutely Fabulous

As for design Park Hill is amazing. Repurposing of 1960s social housing as an idea instead of demolishing the building is a fantastic use of resource. Inside, the exposed concrete and dual aspect floor to ceiling windows are just perfect and general heat through sunlight in the winter and the balcony doors on either side of the apartment create a great through breeze in the summer. Could not recommend these flats more. The only thing is that they're not so good for pets who would be stuck 12 floors up...

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Sheffield is a brilliant city. Has everything you need in a very compact space. Lovely people, places and things to do. Unfortunately the Park Hill complex although being close to the city centre, there are no supermarkets particularly close by. Equally, although the tram stops essentially right outside I require my car for work and leisure purposes (e.g travel to the Peak District) so the fact that there is no on-street parking and that on-site parking is very expensive is quite annoying.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There are no shops within a 10 minute walk of the building. The parking is quite expensive and there are no other free, on street options close by.

What is the best feature of your home:

Dual aspect floor to ceiling windows. The balcony overlooking the city.
