Milltimber the area in itself is a lovely semi-rural area with plenty of surrounding green space and close by walks along the river dee and the countryside. Ample local shops are nearby, although car is needed to reach them unless you like a near 2 mile walk to the nearest one for basics and location wise is great from the city centre and Deeside with the village being set just off the North Deeside Rd allowing great views over the surrounding landscape.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Semi detached homes have a strange and bad layout with the outdoor patio area right next to your neighbours patio, with only a small wooden (and visible through) wooden fence separating both houses, rather than being in the middle of house or at opposite ends, so if you are entertaining or having a quiet day in your garden sitting in your patio and the neighbours are also, then expect to hear every single word they are saying and vice versa. Very poorly thought out. No privacy

What is the best feature of your home:

Layout is fairly spacious for a new build, high quality finishes (generally) and bright open plan kitchen with good size garden.

The development feels a bit like no man’s land. Milltimber in general feels like that though, not just the development. You kind of have to get into your car to get anywhere, you can’t really walk to the shop for a pint of milk in the morning, there’s not one. A few closer facilities would be nice. Not a reflection on Cala as such, more a lack of forward thinking from us before buying. Bins are good, parking is good, noise is never a problem. Dog poo has become a small issue recently on the greens but then there are no bins for it.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How awful and I useable a space the garden would be and how much work time and money it would take to get it to a useable space.

What is the best feature of your home:

General quality of finishing are very high. Cala definitely do a good job. We do love this house it’s just not the area for us.

This area is quiet and peaceful. Good for family with young children’s like us. School and nursery are available within walking distance. Unfortunately there is no convenience shops nearby and hopefully will be available soon in the near future.

Get an average cost of utilities, council tax, monthly / yearly maintenance fees and etc.

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature of this home is bigger space is available which is what we like.

I don’t see any bad points to living in this area to be honest. It’s quiet and set away from main road so no noise, parking is good and the people and families in the development are all friendly. You are also close to all amenities and with bypass close by commuting is much easier.

Make sure you take the time to see all the house types. All are nice and have different attractive features

Size and space. With 3 kids there is plenty of room for them to play

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Great location, well connected to the major roads in and out of Aberdeen, well served by buses, and right beside the Deeside way which works well for pedestrians and cyclists be that for commuting or pleasure. Excellent schools nearby and good selection of local shops with well known grocery stores, independently owned specialty shops, cafes and takeaways. A small selection of bars within walking distance. Not much facilities for young children, no play facilities at all on the development although this is planned.

The promises on when play facilities would be ready were broken several times.

What is the best feature of your home:

Location, great schools, design, specification, close by Deeside Way and the countryside.
