Great place to live but a shame about NHG

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location is excellent for transport links and being able to get into London. I love that you can walk to the Southbank or London Bridge from here. The area is developing rapidly and there are some lovely eateries popping up as well as the new elephant park. There are a few different green spaces we can walk to. The only downside to living so central is that there is higher crime and it can be noisy but that is living in central London for you. Bicycle theft is a big issue

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We had a huge problem with our flooring because there was a leak from the flat above us owing to pipes being installed incorrectly and it took a couple of years for our problem to be resolved with constant chasing from us. We have unfortunately had to raise many formal complaints about the length of time it takes to answer communications and then length of time it takes to resolve anything or the sheer lack of communication

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I guess I wish I had known how bad NHG would be and also how Durkan, the developers, seem to rush everything and not care about problems that then occur later due to the build and fittings being rushed. But having said that we do like our flat and we are happy to live here for a while.

Beautiful apartments

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Elephant and Castle is a very trendy area with a strong local spirit. There are lots of quirky bars shops cafes and gyms to explore and enjoy - as well as convenient super markets. Public transport is excellent and there are parking spaces nearby. Surprisingly little traffic noise for how central it is.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Often problems faced don't fit under there options in the portal so they are ignored, even when they are dangerous (e.g. doors that trap you inside rooms, defective sprinklers etc). Its very hard to speak to anyone who cares / can do anything about the problems

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Our neighbours have all been really lovely and their is a great sense of community that I've never had before

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Elephant & Castle is a great area to live. It's super central with lots of restaurants and local shops. In addition, it has excellent transportation links to the rest of London. The area is at the mid-way point in a multibillion regeneration. As such the area stands to continue to improve further.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The developer has been responsive to any issues. So far its been a great purchase

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Sayers street is a great place to find restaurants in the area. Billions are being spent on redevelopment in the area, including a new shopping center that will open in the coming years.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Great area, lots to see and do. Really central so great launchpad to get to other places in London. In addition lots of new shops and restaurants are coming all the time.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The issues have been resolved once notified so no complaints.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The location is pretty straightforward, but until you live here you don't really know how central it is. And just how much is on your doorstep

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Being so close to Elephant and Castle, there are a lot of new restaurants and bars around with really great food. Further, one can reach shops like M&S, Boots, Morrisons, Co-op, Sainsbury's within 10 minutes walk.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We haven’t raised any issues yet so I cannot give my view.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The main road that takes you the opposite way from elephant and castle is not the friendliest or the cleanest.
