Lace Market Quarter: Stylish and Convenient City Apartments

Eric (Tenant)

Verified Resident

Jul 2024

It provides a wonderful blend of contemporary conveniences and old world charm. These flats' layouts combine modern open-plan designs with huge windows and exposed brick and beams to create light and airy interiors. Well-maintained amenities are available to residents, such as spotless common areas and safe entry systems. The efficient and attentive building management makes sure that maintenance issues are promptly resolved and common areas are kept in good condition. Residents feel safe since security is treated seriously and there is surveillance and secure access. The property management staff is competent and personable; they communicate clearly and react quickly to any questions or issues. They bring tenants up to date on building improvements and neighborhood events while handling maintenance requests and tenancy issues with efficiency. All things considered, the Lace Market Quarter Apartments provide a chic and cozy living environment in a bustling area of Nottingham.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Nottingham's Lace Market offers a special combination of old world charm and contemporary conveniences for living. The neighborhood is well-known for its wide assortment of shops, which include high-street and boutique establishments in addition to an excellent selection of eateries and bars, making it a popular destination for nightlife and dining. But because of its popularity, it may get crowded and expensive. While there are green areas close by, such as the Nottingham Castle grounds, the surrounding area is mainly urban. Excellent transportation connections allow for simple access to the train station, buses, and trams. Although this makes traveling easier, there may be a lot of traffic and sometimes not enough parking, requiring permits. The antique building of The Lace Market creates an aesthetically pleasing setting and a strong sense of community. Like any city center, there might be occasional littering and anti-social conduct, and noise levels can be considerable, especially on weekends due to the nightlife. All in all, it's a bustling area for city dwellers.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

All complaints are quickly addressed by the administration of Lace Market Quarter Apartments, which arranges maintenance to fix problems as soon as possible. Responses are logged and handled within 24 hours.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would suggest that new neighbors get to know with the parking situation as soon as possible because the apartment's basement parking is still unfinished. Parking spots are sometimes scarce and permit-required, so making advance plans or looking into other ways to get around could save some trouble.

Convenient Location with New Appliances, but Some Initial Issues and Service Concerns

L L (Tenant)

The appliances inside the flat are new and of good quality. However, there was no reception in the building until now (the current one is a shared reception with other buildings which normally takes 10-15 min walk to there), although it looks likely one will be added soon. Additionally, there was no lift available at the time of move-in, which was also not mentioned beforehand, though it became operational a few months later. The public areas, including the corridor, main door, lift, and stairs, are clean and comfortable. Most, but not all of the staff, are friendly and patient. No parcel pick-up as no reception in building. People need to be at home always to take parcels. Some staff are not as attentive and patient, interrupting conversations on phone calls, which can be disappointing and unhappy. Another thing that should be noted to potential tenants is that you, as the tenant, are not allowed to choose your energy supplier or billing scheme, although we will be told before signing but still annoying. All of the above makes me feel that the living experience does not deserve the rent I am paying here. Hence Very Poor in Value score.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Access to local amenities, including the grocery store, pub, and gym, is convenient and excellent. The surrounding area is peaceful, with no traffic noise or disturbances at night, and party noise is rare.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Requests made through the resident APP, as well as interactions with security and receptionists, are promptly addressed and generally satisfactory, although occasional mistakes can lower efficiency. Some staff members handling customer requests are not professional; they tend to speak negatively to guests instead of offering alternative solutions or listening to concerns. One thing that impressed me until now was that: before signing the contract, I called to inquire about the energy supplier. The person on the other side interrupted me and impatiently suggested I look for other properties. Please be noted, as a potential tenant, I have every right to know what I am paying for and why I need to do so before signing. People made a calling before signing because they are likely to live there and may need to confirm more information, but if you always treat it negatively, impatiently, and even unfriendly, people change their minds quickly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

No reception on site or no parcel pick-up. No lift at the moment.
