Having moved from a 150 year old terrace our Stour 1 detached is very modern. Appliances are not top quality but adequate for our needs. Layout is good, apart from the need to pass through lounge to access garden. Very good parking, a real bonus from our old house. Down side of moving, site still incomplete causing disruption. All in all glad we made the move.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Having moved to the estate from close by willesborough all the previous amenities are still close to hand. Good school, variety of take away food shops access to m20 direct to Maidstone London Folkestone. Also Ashford International Station, be better when Eurostar reinstated.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The estate being used as a lorry park overnight. Will hopefully be resolved by local council.

What is the best feature of your home:

Looks nice, good size for 2 people. Not overlooked

Avoid!

Where do I start…. Bought a house here in December 2020. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. These houses feels like they’ve been built out of cardboard. Constant issues with the house itself and even with their warranty and guarantee they do nothing at all to help solve the situations. The development are a joke. Staff are disgustingly rude, constantly passing you around and getting nothing done but are constantly knocking on doors to ask ridiculous questions at silly times of the morning or evening. Road works that aren’t ever planned and they don’t let anyone know. Many times having to call work and either be late or not turn up due to being STUCK on the estate due to road works as they’re not planned or thought about. No directions. They have left high iron drains (sharp) inches off the floor that have scuffed the bottom of my car numerous times (no other way around then other than to go over them). I’ve had nails in my tyres where the construction staff dont clear up after themselves! They leave the road in an absolute state before leaving work for the day. Site manager is never on site! The list is endless just avoid unless you want constant issues and money outgoing.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Awful area! Worst move I have ever made. Loud neighbours. Nosey neighbours. Rude neighbours! Cars parked everywhere making it difficult to get on or off of your own drive ways! Bin collections are rare due to constant road work issues on the whole estate. Traffic noise constant, sirens constant as next to the hospital and constant helicopters.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I’d have known everything was a lie as I was very much lied to.

What is the best feature of your home:

At this point after living here for almost 2 years I can’t quite confidently say that I don’t have any best features. Luckily there is no chain for my next property and I will be out of here ASAP!

The layout of the site is great with some nice wide verge and footpaths so it feels open and not on top of each other. The play park is a little on the small side and is still not open. I do wish the follow up customer service was quicker and more customer focus as it took nearly a year to sort a leaky roof and I had to do all the chasing. Poor customer service.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Tesco being so close is very handy for all our shopping and fuel. Access to the motorway is great. Bus services into town is nice and close

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Nothing really the sales staff kept us informed all the way

What is the best feature of your home:

The house has plenty of natural light and is well layed out with a nice size kitchen

Some parts of the design of the house feel a little rushed and everyday life not focused on. Like paths to front door or driveways. The build of the house only minor repairs have been needed. Unable to comment on management of park/play area/ wildlife areas or up keep on paths and roads as not completed.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Shops, hospital, bus route, pubs all in walking distance. The roads are wide giving a spacious feel. With visitor parking bays. Not far from the M20 but without the noise.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Wish there were more plug points and ability to upgrade shower unit. Wish the radiators were under the windows and solar panels.

What is the best feature of your home:

Wide roads and the bricks used love a all brick house.

Good design/great area/ poor customer service

The overall design of the houses including our is very good and in keeping with the country surroundings with a good mix of designs some with weatherboarding and some with brick and then some with tile facings and a good mix of 2/3/4 bedroom homes spread around Unlike many estates now where houses are crammed in to get the most profit from the plot this estate has wide roads with good distances apart so feeling very open when one enters the estate It has a small children’s area but frankly that’s a bit basic and could have been designed snd finished better. Sales team especially Jaren very helpful as were the support builders who looked after us for snagging jobs in the first 4 weeks but once passed to customer care after this there is a lot of buck passing snd lack of support as a whole and we are still waiting for jobs that need fixing like mould in the utility room snd new grass ruined by lorries driving over it out front when all the outside tiles on our walls started falling off still not been replaced and it’s nine months now since we moved in

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good Excellent location Close to large superstore Close to access m20 motorway Close to Ashford international station Close to Renown Ashford Outlet park Close drive 15 mins to Coast In middle of country with lots of quaint pubs nearby Large Hospital on our doorstep Good Development Not too big Beautiful looking houses and good distances apart so don’t feel crushed in. Helpful sales team Bad Build quality below par with lots of faults both in design snd build quality Still waiting for compensations promised AND fixes now after 9 months Change of development entrance with massive implications to traffic and look from our front window that was not made clear when we purchased and been putting up with heavy machine work and noise for months and months now which isn’t good

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Neighbours all very friendly at least in our little close Local pub within walking distance that serves very good food Nice to be on our side of the M20 The other side is more of original Ashford old town snd accommodation which is a bit poor snd rough looking in places Local shops in willington whilst not looking much on quick glance have a great fish and chips shop plus a decent Chinese and a cafe which offers up fantastic grub in large portions at very competitive prices Hospital right behind us so can he a lot of sirens and helicopters at times but we have got used to that now

What is the best feature of your home:

Beautiful to look at and all the rooms are a good size House came with most appliances although oven a cheap brand which is a shame and an unnecessary cut back in a large 4 bed detached house Generally we’re good value in price at the yimdd we we bought compared to nearby maidstone snd Canterbury Well insulated snd warm in winter We are generally happy here
