Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The local area is fantastic. Duet is a stones throw from Media City, where there is always events being organized, especially in the summer months. There are many restaurants and bars within walking distance also. The local area is very safe and secure, with great transport links to the City.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Excellently. We only had one issue in our time here. Once raised, it was solved within 3 days.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The Duet car park is expensive due to its size with cheaper, and secure car parking options available nearby. The front desk at Duet are happy to recommend alternative options.

Pleasant Stay with Friendly Staff

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Positive: Convenient Public Transport: The Metrolink and bus stop are right in front of the building, making public transportation very convenient. Peaceful Environment: The area is quiet, clean, and feels safe. Local Amenities: A nearby local shop provides most essential items. Limitations: Limited Visitor Parking: There's no dedicated visitor parking, although other nearby parking options are available. Few Dining Options: The limited number of bars and restaurants in the area contributes to its quiet atmosphere.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The management responded very quickly to resolve and update all tenants via email / building community system. e.g. there was an incident of Internet service outage due to issues at the service provider, and the management team had been keeping tenanats updated for the status.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I think the only improvment is to get more details for the arrangement of water and electricity bills that are handled by another company, and the comprehensiveness of the check-in inventory report, also done by another company.

Great building , Great staff , Poor building management

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Have been renting in Duet for Over a Year now been a great experience for most of it . When I moved in on January the Building had 2/3 lifts in operation it has been over a Year and it is still 2/3 lifts in operation. When lift maintenance occurs a building this size relies on one single working lift service for all apartments. So would advise getting a lower flow apartment as this issue seems it will never be fixed unless you sign a 46 month Tenancy you MIGHT get to see the 3rd lift work at your time in duet . The garden is a great feature and ideal if you work remotely and have dogs as quite a nice space inside a busy area like media city however when I moved in this area was closed for nearly 3 months due to a door issue and recently after a few light showers in the weather the area has been closed again with no notice of reopening. Quite frustrating when rent is over £1100 for a 1 bed flat. The staff is great at reception and very helpful and always polite . The management focus a lot on events in the building like Friday socials and group workshops and very little on the actual Maintenance of the building itself. Over a year and can’t order a part for a Lift? 3 months to fix a door ? The building was supposed to have all windows clean on 4 separate dates but due to error even this can’t be done ? Like I mentioned the staff are AMAZING and I’m sure under new management the building could be 10/10 .

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

No management have given up updating residents on the lift issue as been over a year and still can’t seem to fix this simple issue .

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The maintenance lets this property down big time that’s the only issue . Lovely building great staff poor management

Manager response

Hi Jake, We are disappointed to read your review and hope that we can work on changing your view. With all maintenance issues we try our best to communicate to all residents with updates and timelines as best we can. We try to remain as transparent as possible when doing this, as we understand the frustration that some maintenance issues can create of our residents. We are also more than happy to answer any questions regarding on going maintenance within the building. Regarding the elevator, we totally understand the frustration with the matter but please trust that as an onsite team we are truly doing all we can to resolve this issue. Unfortunately with matters such as this, there are curtain boxes that need to be ticked and hoops that need to be jumped through in order to move things forward. Often this does take time and often relies on multiple contributing factors. We do hope to see the issue resolved soon and as always will keep all residents informed once we know more. Regarding the recent garden closure, the decision to temporally close the garden was made due to storm damage. Unfortunately the UK as hit by 2 back to back storms (Storms Isha and Jocelyn) both of which I believe had amber warning from the met office. This I'm sure you respect is totally out of our control, that being said we have to always take into account the safety of anyone on site at Duet and we believe that closing the garden for the time being is a necessary step to ensure the safety of all resident and staff. Communicate via emails were sent to all residents regarding this matter and we are doing all we can to ensure that there will be no other knock on effect from the damage and once we have this OK'd we can then reopen the garden. Its worth pointing out, once we noticed there was storm damage we acted accordingly and had engineers out the very same day (within hours) to take a closer look at the damaged area. With matters such as this it often means that multiple engineer visits will be needed as step by step processes have to be taken. This takes intense planning as multiple contributing factors have to be taken into account. We are moving along with this as fast as we can. This hopefully wont take much longer and things are moving along as fast as possible. If you would like to come see me in person to talk through any points raised I'm more than happy to do so. Best Wishes, Stephen Spence General Manage

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Excellent area, quality of living and space for all your things. Transport is readily available and the location is superb for walking back and forth to MediaCity.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Understanding and lenient. Problems usually get fixed within a quick and timely manor.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Don't forget to sort out your parking before moving, if you drive. Could potentially cause issues because of the demand for spaces.

A wonderful place to live

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Duet is in its own perfect little oasis. You have the quiet and tranquility of being just outside of the heart of town (plus views across three Erie Basin), but all the benefits of getting to Piccadilly in 20 minutes thanks yo the two tram stops (Harbour City and Anchorage) that Duet is between. One tram stop up to Media City, or a 10 minute stroll away, you will find a range of pubs, restaurants, the Lowry and outlet centre. You really won't be at a loss for things to do in the evening. There is also a Sainsburys Local a four minute walk away, so you never need to worry if you need a pint of milk or a quick tea. The building itself also offers events, such as fortnightly drinks, quarterly socials, pilates and other fitness classes, and Christmas movie nights etc. There are parking spaces available to tenants to rent, though it is not an enormous car park. If you have guests visiting, they can park at the Quayside car park for not an unreasonable amount. As a heads up for any driver, Manchester United match days can mean a lot of traffic around The Quays as people drive to and from games. As long as you know games are on, this I'd easily avoidable. I have no complaints about bin collections or the cleanliness of the bin rooms at all. I can also happily report that there are no issues of antisocial residents or people in the area. It always feels safe and quiet.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, any issues we have had were addressed by the front desk on the same day and, if required, someone has come to make repairs on the following Tuesday.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How excellent a location it is. You are wedged between two tram stops and are a 10 minute stroll from Media City. Depending on the flat, you can see Old Trafford, the Lowry, ITV and the BBC clearly from the window.
