Great location but mediocre building management company

I really like my apartment - there are lots of great aspects. I especially like the balcony and the views. The apartment is high-quality, well-designed and spacious. The courtyard in the middle of the residence is very nice and aesthetically pleasing. On the downside, the dishwasher in my apartment does not work (and has not done so for as long as I can remember!) - the building management have failed to respond to this issue and fix it. The blinds are also poor quality and very ineffective. The concierge service for the residence is pretty terrible - they are never around and there are frequently delivery men waiting outside the residence for long periods of time because there has been no answer on the buzzer/intercom.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location is really great - there are great transport links (it is close to both Farringdon and Barbican) and lots of cafes, restaurants nearby. I don't like the atmosphere in this area though - it's a bit sterile.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the building would be managed poorly and that the concierge service would be very mediocre

The facilities are not great - there is no gym and while the Concierge is good he is hardly ever around. The apartment is for sure spacious and there's tons of natural light that I really enjoy. However the build quality could be better. I was disappointed about that.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location is really central in the city and is walking distance from pretty much everything you need including train stations, shops etc. It will get even better too with Crossrail coming soon. An added bonus is the small parks scattered around the place.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known how poor the build quality was.

The apartment is really nice - it is spacious, modern and there is a great balcony. We also have pretty nice views from the apartment. It is cheap to run utilities-wise which is a real bonus. The concierge service is generally very good (although you have to ring them to get hold of them). In terms of facilities, the courtyard within the residence is very attractive and pleasant but sadly there is not a gym. Contact between residents is usually pretty limited but most people are respectful (there are a lot of private tenants - as opposed to owners - living here). There is a good community-feel at the weekend though as most of the residents are around and it does not feel deserted. We would definitely recommend choosing 9A (block) - it is the furthest from the street and so noise is not an issue. The residence is very close to Smithfield Market which is also great and we like how there are lots of green spaces nearby. Another upside is that the buildings in this area are generally very low-rise.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I really like how there are lots of pubs, restaurants and cafés nearby but the best thing is how close the development is to Farringdon station. The proximity to Farringdon means we are extremely well-connected to a huge number of places in England and this is especially useful for travelling as we can easily get to both London City airport and Heathrow. Sometimes it can get a bit busy in this part of London but luckily the noise does not reach our apartment.

Great central location and really nice apartment but sadly no gym

The apartment is really nice - it's good quality, pretty spacious and modern. Generally there is not much interaction between residents - people like to keep themselves to themselves. The concierge service is fairly good although they are often busy and hard to locate when you need them. The building management company generally do a good job and respond to problems and requests reasonably quickly. I feel very safe here - the area is not dangerous and the security on the development is good (you have to pass through two secure and surveilled entrances to even get into the building itself). The building also has lifts which operate very well and have never broken down to my knowledge. Unfortunately there is no gym within the development which is a shame considering how much we pay.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I really like how central the location is - it's a great part of London and there are two tube stations (Barbican and Farringdon) really nearby. However, I don't like the noise from the road and from the frequent construction works.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That there was not a gym included within the development (especially as it is a fairly expensive place to live)

Nice apartment in great location but management can be unnecessarily uptight

My apartment is really nice - it is well-made and very good quality. I especially like the view. Unfortunately the lights often break but the building management company are fairly good at responding and usually resolve issues within a week. The area is safe and the security on the residence is good - you have to pass through two entrances to access the building. The residents generally keep themselves to themselves. The building management and cleaning service are quite strict - they don't like it when furniture within the apartment is moved and I found this a bit odd.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I like how green the area is - there are lots of green spaces nearby and it doesn't feel too built up. However, I don't like that sometimes it gets very noisy.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the management would be so particular about the positioning of the furniture
