Life in brixton

Buildings here are stylish in some areas and very drab in others, places such as moorlands estate look outdated and unpleasant. Other areas look very nice such as brixton main road whilst still maintaining culture and history such as areas like electric avenue and brixton village.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

New gentrification brings in a lot of restaurants and shops and has created an amazing community with an exciting night life. Transport links are convenient with tube, national rail and good bus routes all in the area. My street is very quiet as it is slightly recessed from main road but a short walk away. Slight anti social behaviour with the youth and the way they act.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Make sure you know exactly who to contact if anything goes wrong in your place as that will help you save some time in the future

What is the best feature of your home:

Windows near the roof that let in early morning sunrise light in that let's the upstairs landing glow when u step out of your room

Modern living in Brixtonia

This building is a modern building, with duplex, penthouse style apartments on the top floors; wrap around terraces and several entrances. It never feels crowded. Flats facing inward (toward the courtyard) are somewhat overlooked, but the flats facing outward are completely private. The courtyard and rest of the grounds and building are extremely well maintained as there is a 12hr (daytime) concierge and management on site; who also collect parcels and respond to queries / maintenance issues. The team are very friendly and well liked. There are several layers of security and the main entrance is gated; so very secure! The development is mostly young professionals.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The development is right in the middle of Brixton - so close to everything. We are located to the side of the Market and close to train, bus and tube connections. Everything on the doorstep. There is not a lot of noise from the Market as it closes at 11pm.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

South facing flats get very hot, and would have like to get airconditioning as an option.

Please share one thing (or more) which you would change about your development:

Would prefer sliding doors to the terrace over the opening doors which are currently in place.

Really good

The only problem I've had is the flat is very warm during the summer, but it's great for winter. The design in general is very nice. It is also really quiet and you cannot hear the neighbours next door. It is only loud outside if the kids are playing, but the building has rules so it is not bad. Inside the flat it is nice and the rooms have a good size. The view as well is nice and the garden is well mantained. The concierge is really good and helpful. Thexactly building feels really safe.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is great. There are lots of bars. Brixton village is right next door and the places to eat in there are amazing. The tube is nearby which is very practical. Though, it can be very busy at times. On the brightside, as it is at the end of the line, you mostly always can get a seat. In general the area is very fun.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Not really. Exactly as I expected it to be. Everything is good.

Nice but a bit chaotic

The building is okay. It's nice and modern. The design is really nice. However, it can get a bit chaotic as there are too many people. I have not had any problems though. I would say the main advantage is it is located on a centric location.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Lot of people. Lots of activities. Everything close

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Not really. It's pretty much what was advertised.

I really like the concierge, as he is really friendly and helpful.

I really like the concierge, as he is really friendly and helpful. As I said the location is the best and the tube is really close. The flats are also really comfortable. On the downside, there are many families and children, which can make the place a bit too noiInreallyou love the exterior as tit's enchanting. It is an amazing place to live in as you become so close to your neighbours. The rails so close also create noise which can be bad especially at night. And the view from my windows to the train is not the best. The flats store heat very well, what is useful for winter as you don't need the heater on for long, but for summer it is quite bad, as the airflow is not really good. I would say the best things are the location and the facilities, especially all the green in the garden which creates a nice environment.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is great especially for food and drinks. The location is really useful and fun. Everything you need is nearby, especially transport.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would like to have known there were this many families and children, as it can get quite noisy. And also the fact that it is really hot inside the flats during the summer and the airflow is not great.
