Quality Homes by Springfield

Feb 2024

Great designs, modern and fresh, great build quality. This is our second home from this builder so we knew what we were buying and haven’t been disappointed. The quality of materials inside and out is top rate, particularly the colour and look of the external rendering, looks very smart.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Our second home from Springfield, first class for quality and after sales have been fantastic, nothing but praise here. The development is still quiet after first 5 years in and so well laid out, lots of space and very family friendly. Local facilities are adequate and only a short drive to get into town to local shops restaurants etc. well done Springfield.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Position of boiler. Only negative observation as it is so close to the wall the simple replacement of a sensor requires the whole unit to be stripped down to exchange. Could have been avoided.

What is the best feature of your home:

Design of our property is what attracted us to the type, looks very traditional but with modern materials and finishes.

Perfect family living

Dykes of Gray, DD2

Apr 2023

Dykes of Gray is a lovely semi-rural development less than 10mins by car into the centre of Dundee. It is very much a community with neighbours supporting one another through the development facebook group. Thought about moving to be closer to work but decided against it as what I have here is perfect.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Very well stocked Spar which is so handy, hotel less than 10mins walk which has bar and good quality food. Lots of open spaces, 3 parks for kids plus football pitch. Now that bus service is in place links to town are even easier

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Make sure you sign up to facebook page to keep abreast of what is going on

What is the best feature of your home:

Beautifully high quality homes, with ability to customise to your own taste

Don’t buy Springfield

Cara (Owner)

Knockomie Braes, IV36

Oct 2022

The area is mixed with different house types and flats. The gardens are small. It can be quite noisy and busy with cars so not always safe for kids to go out and play. Some people have had issues with subsidence in the development. The houses are crammed in as close as possible to the next.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Knockomie Braes is quite a busy area with all the new houses. There aren’t much parking spaces with each house so the streets get busy with parked cars.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I’d listened to the people saying that the company don’t care about their customers or the quality of the homes and that they just want as much money as they can get. They don’t even give you carpets.

What is the best feature of your home:

There aren’t any. It’s been the worst experience we’ve had in buying a home.

Great development for young family

Development is well designed. Although homes generally have small gardens the houses do not feel crammed in and the large mix of house types adds to the character. Layout of our home is very practical for family living as well as entertaining. Landscaping of communal area took a while after moving in to be completed but now that works have been done it looks good.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Great location in Nairn. Walking distance from beach and beachfront facilities as well as high street. Very quiet street.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Traffic in Nairn can be really bad. Not a showstopper but worth being aware of especially if regularly commuting to/from Inverness

What is the best feature of your home:

The spacious open plan living area is great for family life

Overall good experience. Would improve with more timely response to snagging issues

Design of houses and estate great but there seems to be wasted space in our driveway that could be better thought through. The area as it is now so large could do with a more local shop in the immediate area to support residents. Transport links excellent with buses. Maybe a train station would have also improved transport? There is also a discrepancy between size of outside spaces between same design houses which seems unfair though I understand sometimes the geography around the house dictates this.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Nice and quiet but a closer convenience shop would be good. Transport links excellent

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

None

What is the best feature of your home:

Location is fantastic as on end of quiet culdesac with no passing traffic and good views. Also house is very well insulated so can easily be kept warm through the winter even with very low temperatures and high winds
