Much more attractive than your average new build development - lots of green space. Lots of different house designs. Very responsive site team and all snags dealt with promptly. Nice playground for the kids. Lovely open fields nearby; fantastic for dog owners. Strong community feel.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Great location, between Crewe (good for trains) and Nantwich (lovely shops and pubs/restaurants). Feels quite rural and village-y - Wistaston is very attractive and there are lots of open fields on our doorstep.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It was quite expensive to kit out a brand new home - all shelves, towel rails, toilet roll holders etc had to be paid for!

What is the best feature of your home:

Four good sized double bedrooms - great space for a young family

Bloor Homes has the best properties!

To be honest, we fell in love with this estate the first time we came here. The sale office was so nice we literally weren’t ready to leave. After speaking to a few “now” neighbours, and them telling us how nice this estate was we made a strong decision to buy our first home from Bloor. The management team was so nice always helpful and happy to see us. Whenever something happened in our home (which hasn’t happened often) the site team was always ready to help and fix the problem we had! The landscape design around the estate is one of the best i have seen, loads of plants, planted by Bloor and loads of space left with just grass!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

One of the best things in our area is the “Joey the swan” and the famous “Woodside”. There’s no problems with the bin collection or traffic noise or anti-social behaviour.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would probably say to not worry if something went wrong because Bloor would always be happy to help and fix the problem.

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature of our home, is the great amount of space we have in it. And one of my all time favourite is the fact that you only have to walk 5min to Joey.

Poor development and management but looks nice

Location of property development is great and the estate looks nice, however roads on the estate are to narrow especially coming round a bend. I’ve had parking issues with neighbours having visitors and parking opposite my drive making it impossible to get onto my drive which resulted in being threatened. I’ve also had the children that live in the social housing running onto my property and kicking the football in front of my house which results in the ball often hitting the cars on the drive. Had to wait nearly 12 months for our shed to be replaced which was stolen. Asked for a no parking sign to be put up and some support with the parking issue and was told we would get a sign and then month of chasing this up and ignored emails we were then told this couldn’t be supported. When the house next to us was being built the builders had to remove our fence and our path that leads to our garden so throughout the summer we were in able to use our garden properly also making it impossible to cut the grass and have our windows cleaned. We were told before the house next door was being build that we would receive compensation for the disruption with a bin store on the grass opposite our house and yet again when we chased that up we were then told we weren’t getting and compensation for the disruption and the 3 flags they laid on the grass were our “bin store”/“compensation” Whenever you contact any one regarding any problems with bloor homes it seems to be ignored. It also appears that the builders are also fitting the wrong parts for this on the property too as I’ve had to change the radiator in the bedroom as it was far to small for the size of the room and the vent on the external wall which has flaps on it is also the wrong size and I’m constantly loosing heat in the kitchen and can feel a huge draft coming in through the extractor fan and in the winter water leaks all over my cooker.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Location of the estate is great in terms of bus routes and shops, bin collections are also great. The majority of the people that live on the estate really pull together and go all out when it comes to decorations on their homes for Halloween and Christmas. We even have an estate Christmas tree that people chip in towards buying and decorating.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Wish I knew how poor the customer service was from bloor Also they type of neighbours we would have and wish I would have asked my friend who does property development to have a look at the property before hand.

What is the best feature of your home:

Doesn’t have a best feature as it’s very cheaply made

Return to a Vicinity known well, Wistaston Brook is an development built for future decades

The development of Wistaston Brook has been considerate to the environment, the external development leasehold fees, external to the freehold Lyttleton plot of house, garden and driveway which I bought (with a maintained verge external to the side of my house, with the demarcation of the flowerbeds being the start of my the freehold garden) has been reasonable in first year £65.00 and it ought not to be too much more in future has been pleasant. Really happy with the build quality and finishing of the tiling on ground floor hall, kitchen and walls of upstairs bathrooms paid for as an extra. Fibre to the house has allowed my work role to be remote and as well as office based through the Pandemic as I travelled to and from Cheshire as an essential worker, who knows if I had not had such flexibility after completing August 2019. Being opposite the builder's compound has been fine and Bloor Homes continued to be pleasant, only concern is slightly shady front lawn (more likely aspect of house) which shall be worked upon once the builders (& their dust) are gone. PvC front door frame is slightly soft to impact and should be more robust and panel on patio doors had to be renewed otherwise absolutely agree Bloor is 5* builder and the reduction on the Conveyancing fees at purchase was appreciated. To be honest I could not be happier and that's a opinion without any bounds. Thank you once more Bloor (North West).

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Returning to the area to purchase my first own home owned in my own right, after university and working remotely to Cheshire, where I had continued to stay here with my Parents. From years ago I know the Outstanding infant and junior schools near the development.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Disappointment the earlier phase of build didn't offer Gas hob option as with later phases, dislike cooking on electric hob, no concern with electric oven and with Gas central heating this is so near yet so far and I did discuss with Sales staff at purchase - nevertheless as exchange of contracts were swiftly complete, no dearth of design options otherwise offered.

What is the best feature of your home:

Insulation of the house, despite rising energy costs has proven resilient since moving in mid to late 2019. Loft attic fully insulated at build phase, with electric loft light to mains provided.

Beautiful Development

Well designed development, with a good range and style of houses There is no building management or property management, but the wide open spaces are managed by RMG. They pass any losses or unexpected shortfall onto the residents, with no explanation of how this has occurred, they want immediate payment for an average to low service.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The nearest shop, chemist, off licence etc is about a 6 minute walk away Wide open spaces around the edge of the development Bus stop about 6 minute walk away Roads not yet finished as site not complete Great community spirit we also have a resident’s Facebook page Could do with more residential parking as most houses only have 2 parking spaces available Bin collections on a Monday No anti social behaviour or traffic noises

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It really is a friendly neighbourhood, dog walkers from off the development often leave their dog mess behind.

What is the best feature of your home:

We love our Shakespeare, plenty of room for a family of 4 adults, apart from the small amount of parking, we have 4 cars.
