Townsend Place Recommended for Quality in a Peaceful Village Setting

Well designed and built houses. The on site project manager ensures quality control. There are problems with vehicles being driven too fast, and noisy motor bikes. Hopefully, speed restrictions will be put in place. The grass in some of the common areas requires cutting more often. Once complete, Townsend Place will be a very pleasant place in which to live.

A peaceful village with good bus links to Oxford and Swindon. Friendly small local shops, restaurants and pubs. Excellent variety of local walks.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

A standing water problem in the garden was attended to and the problem solved.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We were told that there would be no social/affordable housing. Only shared ownership. This has not been the case, which is disappointing.

Very happy just some minor improvements

The build in general is very good there is just a few facilities missing, that could be of great use to most people living within their properties on this estate i.e outside tap, shed in the garden, a window in the bathroom for better air circulation as the fan doesn’t actually do anything so it gets very hot and dusty in the upstairs bathroom and more cups board space within the kitchen diner as there is very minimal storage.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It is a very well based property we are located round the back of the estate. The local shops or closest transport are no more than 10 mins up the road.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Nothing much you can say for advice to new tenants or neighbours.

Great aspects for modern living. Great views, and despite being very close to the A420 you hardly notice it once youve been in for a week or so. Only downside I have found is the abject lack of footpaths on the estate, they seem to either have been forgotten completely, or we are trialling some modern nueance that will occur on every estate to come. Great Builders (Bovis) , very helpful site staff on the few occasions Ive had the need to call on them.

A great place to live. Close to all the local ameneties which the develpopment has aslo contributed towards. Good Local shops, 3 great Pubs in Shrivenham, and only a stones throw from neighbouring watchfield which has very similar facilities.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The few issues I had were dealt with speedily, helpfully, and with a smile from the staff.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Lack of Pavements, which I hadnt appreciated until I moved in.

The houses are great, I’m in a 2 bed house and it’s so spacious, lovely sized garden and parking for both of us and a couple of guests. The builders are very friendly and very helpful if you have an issue they are more than happy to have a look for you. We are just waiting for the road to be surfaced both other than that Bovis have done a great job

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

A fantastic new development, with a range of houses. A small village with lots of nice walks, and very close by to Swindon. The houses have plenty of parking and so does the village. Bin collection is very simple, every Monday and usually done very prompt, some residents do leave their bins out for a lengthy time which is quite annoying. Great takeaway options in the village and the pubs food is amazing!!!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, so we had a couple of snags nothing major. They solved them all within a week. They also supplied us with more paint in case walls needed touching up.

Small things, like what lights will be fitted in what rooms.

Lovely but could do better …

The paths are very narrow leaving many people having to walk on the road. The turning into Cozens Grove is tricky if there are vehicles coming both ways. The bungalows are really spacious. Most of the plots are sadly overlooked by other properties and I think better consideration for fencing height and angle would be helpful. Most neighbours have had to extend their fences to ensure their privacy.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The paths are very narrow, nice open spaces and landscaping on the border of the development. Difficulties with drainage in the back garden.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes the garden has had drainage installed which I hope resolves the issue.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The houses backing on to my garden look directly in.
