The design of the building is very modern but the quality is relatively sub-par (expect a few of issues when you move in) and the property management service is very poor (long lead time to get things fixed, poor communication between property management staff and low retention rate of reception staff). There are 3 lifts in a tower building and 1 lift keeps breaking down on a weekly basis.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

A vibrant area with lots of restaurants and bars. The building is located 5-6mins walk away from Old Street Station, however the building is a car-free development (meaning you need to give up your parking permit if you live in this building).

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building management responded to problems but the response time is very long.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wished i had know the quality of the property management was very sub-par before i moved in.

Beautiful building, everything is in great condition, extra attention to design and aesthetic than most comparable buildings I've seen. Building is managed well although I've had issues with my own individual property managed. Some have had water issues.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Close to Shoreditch and all it has to offer. A bit quieter as well being enough away from City Rd. Overall good.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Timely and professional although I feel like they are too stretched at times. Not their fault though.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Noise from football pitch outside of building, every weeknight especially. Doors are soundproof though.

Incredible design in the heart of Shoreditch

Beaufitul design overall. Modern spaces. Elegantly decorated. I really love the building. Great finishes. Beautiful cinema space and gym as well! Lovely terraces. It’s an amazing building to live in. Really really love it. Would absolutely recommend!

Beautifully designed.

It has been somewhat complicated because of the letting agency, not so much management.

Downside: No good supermarkets anywhere around

Building is great, easy access for bin chute. Building amenities are spot on! Design is lush and also there’s a cinema and gym facilities. Really clean and team are so friendly. The business centre is always so clean and a great working space. The garden space is tranquil and residents respect the grounds too. Very clean

Really great local area. Super quiet during the night, it feels safe too. Close to all main attractions too. Local station nearby too.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Any issues raised, the problem has been fixed immediately.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I didn’t have a full understanding of how the heating and air con worked, had to read the guide etc. Otherwise all self explanatory. Team are really helpful so helped me understand how to book the cinema etc and gym

With a name like ‘The Makers’, it’ll come as no surprise that this is a development geared up for young, fun twenty and thirty-somethings. And it certainly ticked the boxes for the target audience, who snapped up every single one of its units in no time upon launch. Elsewhere in the development, there’s a 24-hour concierge, a swanky residents’ gym, and space set aside for bicycles.

A top choice for Shoreditch living – The Makers is a striking, contemporary development literally next to Old St station ( 10 -12 minutes walk away from Shoreditch)

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Sometimes efficient and very professional and sometime very slow. Really depends on the person you're dealing with.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I got everything I needed to know before moving in.
