Has potential, but massive room for improvement

The building has been a nightmare, because there is no sign of the building name in eye sight for, deliveries or visitors to find. The building management and cleaning is now poor. Doors not fixed, broken lights and structural damage takes too long to be corrected.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Transport links are good, and traffic noise is low. The parking facility has become bad, and the building development effects the breeze, gets stuffy during summer. The anti-social behaviour is quite a nuisance.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Repairs, take long to get fixed. Some neighbours , are uncomfortable to live with.

Bad service

It takes a few weeks for the landlord to fix problems in flats like security and leaks. And the lift keeps breaking down and takes a long time to fix. The telephone line is always busy and not open at weekends. There is a leak at the moment that's hasn't been fixed

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There are no shops since the building started. There was a market before Christmas last year which was good but all stopped now.

There’s always construction around this area, making it hard to focus.

There was once a fire in the flat I lived in and because of the poor development, nobody knew where to go. The lifts are ok, they get cleaned regularly from what I’ve seen. The council can do much more to make it look so much nicer for example by adding decorations around.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There’s always construction around this area, making it hard to focus. People in this area can be very obnoxious and annoying. They are gentrifying this area causing the people in the older flats to look much poorer.

I wish I had known the local area before moving in.

The development of a play area for children next to the library is a good idea

From what I have seen the houses backing onto the local primary school look small as I overlooked them being built i thought they were building garages as they seemed similar dimensions to a prison cell. It wasn’t until they started building upwards that I questioned if they could be houses, which they turned out to be. The development of a play area for children next to the library is a good idea that I think needs to include smaller children as well as I’d say this park was for ages 5+.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

We have a Sainsbury’s round the corner as well as a Lidl but buses can get you to places with more shops within as little as 10 minutes to get to thamesmead town centre, 20 minutes to get to woolwich and 25 minutes to get to bexleyheath. All bars and pubs are being closed down in order to build new houses so none in the local area. Before the new flats and houses were built our parking was free and on a first come first served basis since then bein by Ilya we have to pay for a parking permit per vehicle (in addition to rent) which is hard for those tradesmen who use company vehicles for work but also own their own car for family use. We get people park up in their cars playing loud music and doing balloons and then emptying their empty canisters all over the roads and paths. Traffic noise is moderate considering we live next to a main road but can be blanked out once your busy enough.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Paying for a parking space as a resident can be a pain in the backside especially if you need to be close to the entrance due to pregnancy, young children, disability or shopping

A lovely area with just a few issues.

The design is lovely, as of a few years ago we’ve been allowed to customise the interior. But as soon as I did that, our roof started to leak, ruining my brand new floor. They knocked a hole in the roof to find the source but couldn’t find it. I had a hole in my roof for 2 years. They came to replace the wall but it was too late. As for the area, it is maintained well by the lovely staff. They try their best for everyone in the area.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There are a lot of places you can shop and a lot of places you can enjoy views. Parking isn’t an issue but for family and friends it’s near impossible. Noise is okay but be ready for kids playing. Bin collection has never been an issue, they do come quite early and because the area is so closed in, it echoes alot.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I knew about the area just a touch more. It seemed empty at first but the updated it quickly.
