The building is great and unique because there’s exposed brickwork ceiling to floor, with the mezzanine it looks very cool! The building feels big and secure and is well maintained. Any issues we have had have been resolved quickly and efficiently. Would definitely recommend

We love living in Old School Lofts, the flat itself is very easy to live in we have everything we need here. There are local shops and pubs which have everything you need. Management here is very good and you feel supported with every query. The only downfall is having to pay for communal washing machine/dyer, however we do understand this as the previous ones were damaged and needed upgrading!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The local shops have everything you need. Great pubs around the area (especially Traveller’s Rest just a 2/3min walk up the hill!) Parking is always available in the car park with locked gates. Bins have been improved! ! There was problems with too much rubbish left outside of the bins, however Ocaa Homes provided us with more bins which seems to have solved the problem. There we frequently gardener here to maintain the greenery around the building and window clears to clean the very high windows from the outside of the building.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very quick response to maintenance issues (quickly fixed washing machine/dyers and damages door locks due to harsh weather conditions)

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Some flats do not include washing machine/dyer. There are communal washing facilities on the lower ground floor.

Big Promises, No Results.

The building is lovely, with a very pleasant setting and a really nice base design. Unfortunately, it's execution is pretty poor. The windows are ill-fitting so leak heat constantly, some of the walls aren't properly sealed so there is no real soundproofing between the bedrooms. A lot of the workmanship is quite poor - the kitchen floor isn't fit properly and the slats slide apart a lot, the painting around light switches is sloppy, and the kitchen sink is poorly fitted.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is very cheap, and has a lot of diversity which I find really comforting - I grew up in a very monochromatic area and having a bit more colour is much better. We have some of the most interesting outdoor spaces as well - Armley Moor is one of the few pieces of land in the country legally owned by the residents of the surrounding area, and it's really nice. Other areas like Gotts park and along the canal are also really pleasant. We're very fortunate at our property to have a private car park, so there is always enough parking for us, although the security of the car park leaves a lot to be desired as multiple cars are broken into and my mobility scooter was recently stolen from my car. We have issues with people breaking into the property itself too, and stealing amazon packages almost daily. Traffic noise is a large issue too as the road we live on is a common thoroughfare.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

For small to medium issues, we have had a mixed bag of responses. We often have workmen sent out, but one of the workmen sent out tends not to fix problems, but to do more of a hackjob which doesn't last. The other workman we've had has been consistently excellent. For larger, building wide issues, we've been strongly disappointed. Our heating is powered from a single plant room and has had repeated issues over the time we've lived here including cutting out for 10 days during the winter.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known how bad the landlord company was before we moved in.

Very affordable place to live

Facilities are okay however there are now metres for the communal washers and dryers which has stopped me from using them as much. Design of the building is great and the management of the property is good and they’re easy to contact if any issues occur

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Lots of nice pubs in the local area and the parking availability is brilliant. Bins are well kept however some noise from the streets hasn’t been great and the noise of the traffic as well as we are right next to the road

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Most of the issues raised have been dealt with however some have been ignored

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish i knew about this place sooner as it is very affordable however i wish i knew how the bills fluctuate over winter
