Moving into a new build gave us the opportunity to buy our first home. Unfortunately, our experience has been less than stellar with Allison Homes- things not done before completion, issues with our solar panels and damp in the garage, poor quality and finish throughout, roads still not complete, everywhere overrun with weeds and nettles, applications for further development despite assurances before buying that the area would be farmland. I’d never deal with them again.

Nettleham is a wonderful village served by a decent array of shops and with easy access to most of the main routes of Lincolnshire

Get everything in writing- every offer, conversation and decision on fittings!

What is the best feature of your home:

Can’t fault the location, and the fact that we were able to use Help to Buy

We love our house and the development although along with other residents we feel we have been forgotten,re snags still not done,road still not surfaced . Sometimes we randomly get calls to ask if things have been done but it's really hard to get people in to tidy swailes up etc.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Lots of local shops and pubs etc. Great local bus service. Very quiet area to live in with great neighbours. Should be a play area though,there is space for one! Roads are quite narrow resulting in issues with street parking.we love our house

Wish I'd known how long it would take to surface the road.

What is the best feature of your home:

Rooms are a lovely size,not too big so it feels very homely.

The design of the property is good, but the external grounds and parking are terrible! 4 bed house with one parking space. no wheelchair or pushchair access to the house, only discovered on moving day. groundwork’s still not finished 18 months after moving in. quality very very poor. customer service team barely action any snagging. the whole process with larkfleet was a nightmare start to finish, they tried to change terms halve way through to reduce the amount of extras etc. steer clear of this company.

great location, close to lincoln, loads to do in nettleham. industrial estate being developed next to the site.

i wish i had read reviews on larkfleet and wish i had done more to question the lack of parking.

best feature is the location on the development, backs onto fields.

Overall a good development design in a good area. Totally let down by using cheap builders and poor communications in completing the site

We have been in the development for 3 years and it it still not completed. The roads have not been topped and the foot way only just done. The swaths are now being completed. The design of the development is good in that there is a mix of different housing rather than the same boxes all the time. The actual builders used and street and landscapers are poor and I suspect at the lowest cost to the developer leaving a huge amount of snags in the development, which should have been sorted a long time ago. As the development is still not complete there has been no management committee set up yet. The management of the actual property and fixing snags is very poor due to a terrible lack of communication within the development team.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The development is 10 minutes walk from the center of the village, either via a leafy bridle-path and by a lovely beck or down a road which only has a foot path down one side of the road. There is a wide range of good shops, pubs, takeaways in the center of the village. The bus passes by the development every hour supposedly and as a result some walk into the center of the village to catch the hourly bus from there. The street I live on is a cul-de-sac. It has a T at the end so turning is quite easy. There is no ASB or traffic noise.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The developer informed all new home owners that the field to the left of the development as you enter, would be reverted to farm land. This was totally untrue and the same developer has put in plans which on appeal only have been passed for 33 new homes a lot of which are affordable homes all crammed into a small area which will cause parking problems for the development. In addition we now expect building on the development will not be completed for at least another 5 years.

What is the best feature of your home:

The design layout of our home is very good, In some areas the finish is better than our previous new home. The internal doors are more robust. The mortar used for the brick work is better. The look from outside the front is good. The gardens are a good size although perhaps to big for bungalows. The area is the reason for purchase and being a new home owner.

I would give a lower score than 1 for the developers if I could! 3 years down the line and we still have a snag outstanding, keep being fobbed off. After care is appalling. Customer service is utterly shocking. I’ve sent emails after emails but don’t ever seem to get a straight answer.

I would never buy from this developer ever again - Just being honest. This site has been sadly neglected. We don’t even have a road outside, 3 years later.
