The main road running through the middle of the estate is too narrow for a main road. Double parking is very common which makes it difficult to drive through. There are some 3 and 4 bedroom houses with small driveways so can’t easily fit two cars, which means more cars on the street. My house looks onto sunny green space and has a north facing garden. Maybe in future developments, it could be better to turn houses like this around to make it a south facing garden which is not overlooked. Management have been helpful and all of our main snags have been resolved. I like the amount of green space on the estate, it is nice to go for a short walk around the footpath. The playground is excellent. The house itself has been well built with care taken to provide a good finish and attention to detail. We are really happy with our home!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The noise is absolutely fine at the moment and bins are collected every week. There is a supermarket within a 3 minute drive. A shop within walking distance would be lovely but not essential. Buses to town come regularly and I haven’t noticed any anti social behaviour within a year of living here.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That noise from the factory would not be a big issue.

What is the best feature of your home:

It looks lovely from the outside and has a large front garden.

Good design of housing overall and a nice mix of detached to semi detached housing. Good energy efficient appliances in each household. Building can carry a lot of noise pollution with it while other areas are being built. Good communication links to the main reception to be able to report a problem when under the warranty.

Good access to local amenities e.g shops and bars/restaurants, short distance to the town centre. Parking spaces can be hard to find and Dearne hall lane can be busy.

That our road was going to be a priority road and the increase in traffic cost

What is the best feature of your home:

Open area for the living room that can maintain our dog and dinner table

Lovely estate for first time buyers

We moved into the house 2 years after it was built so not familiar with the management team. However we like the design of the house, large living room area and nice kitchen. En suite to master bedroom which was one of the main things I wanted. Plenty of storage space also

Near to lots of bars and restaurants, and supermarkets within a few minutes drive away. Lovely park at the entrance to the development with a children’s play area. Good parking however potential for double-yellow lines on Dearne Hall Lane in future.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Wish we had known that Dearne Hall Lane will become a priority road when the estate is finished and may have double yellow lines as part of this.

What is the best feature of your home:

We enjoy our large living room area downstairs which opens out onto the garden with French doors

Nice houses with good features. Well equipped, warm and well insulated with low running costs. Bedrooms could be bigger. En suite shower was disappointing, much less powerful than main bathroom shower that cost extra. Garden is a good size. Finish was decent. Good follow up aftercare overall.

Lovely area, great pubs and green spaces around. Easy access to buses into the town centre then trains to major cities from there. Also close to the M1 for commuting. Council services all good, feels safe and a happy neighbourhood.

Noise from local factories was irritating at first, lots of traffic when any roadworks in local area

What is the best feature of your home:

Home is very well equipped with a spacious garden and driveway.

The facilities of the park and walking path are very nice and the estate is designed well. Ongoing work to roads to improve the surface as the development goes on which should improve the quality of the roads as at the minute this does need improving.

Good selection of local pubs / restaurants. City centre is a 15 minute drive away with cinema / bowling / bars etc. 10 minute drive to the M1.

Don't expect Barratt to contact with changes to move in date - you will need to chase this to make sure you get updates

What is the best feature of your home:

The neighbourhood is friendly and quiet. The area is good value for money.
