I’m very happy with my decision

The building itself is great and I’m very happy with my decision. Small cracks have appeared over the last year however this is expected and cosmetic, it isn’t a structural risk. The bedrooms are very spacious and storage throughout the house is great. The property management company can be a bit confusing in their communications so I feel this is a downside, although that’s not Dandara.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Quiet residential area. Lots of parking available. Good bus links for town centre.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Double check all doors/windows open and close properly at earliest chance. Taxis still need a bit of help getting into the development so make sure you know how to describe location!

What is the best feature of your home:

It sounds a bit daft but the kitchen. I moved from a one bed flat and here in the house I have room to cook and store things.

Our own experience of the property management has been generally good

The area is well designed and there is management of the communal areas in place. As time goes on I would anticipate that communal facilities and infrastructure will be put in place to enhance the development. Our own experience of the property management has been generally good. But we should have had an external water tap in place as most of the development seem to have this as standard.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

As this is a very new development there are no facilities such as shops etc. in place at present. Local bus services are a relatively short distance away. There are no services within the development as yet. Local refuse collection is in place. There are no parking problems and we have a quiet situation.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Out side water tap. There was a bath in the property which we had taken out and a shower put in instead at out own cost. It we had asked for this to be done before purchasing we could have saved ourselves this additional cost.

What is the best feature of your home:

We chose a Bungalow as we wished to downsize to a single level property.

Dandara have been great throughout. Anytime we had a question or needed help they were always more than happy to help, Site manager is great. Gave me his direct line so if I needed anything, I went straight to him, would 100% recommend Dandara to anyone. Been a pleasure.

Great location, street is very quiet and friendly. Visually pleasing as well with all the top tier developers.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Electric heating is expensive and doesn’t really work well with the new flat regulations of having a open vent in the bedrooms, this trips the electric heating.

What is the best feature of your home:

Kitchen and bathroom finishing, best of appliances.

It would be better if the builder could provide the curtain installation service. Also, it would be better if there are some public fitness facilities provided in the local area, which would be helpful. The building and property management is very great.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

In general, there are two large supermarkets around this area (ASDA and Tesco), which is convenient. Parking and bin collection are very good.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

If the solar panel can be installed at the south of the roof, that will be better.

What is the best feature of your home:

The kitchen devices are very functional and easy to use.

We love the property. The only improvement we could suggest is that when you flush the toilet you have to put the toilet seat down first. Maybe have the panel higher up. We also would have liked a back gate that leads to car port instead of at the side.

We are looking at the bigger picture and looking forward to the football pitches and shops coming.

Other expenses that come with a new build eg) blinds/curtains, higher council tax.
