A lovely village but the builder not the best

It was a big problem to chase extra (lights) that were in our package. A contractor used COVID for excuses to do anything, even outdoor. It seems cheapest appliences were used, some of them didn't have serial number to register warranty. H&S on site quite poor.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is great, a picturesque village with many walks around. There is a local shop, post office, bakery, restaurant and couple of pubs.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very slow and making mistake, not adhere to times booked.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Difficult to deal with customer service and chasing for snags repairs.

Lovely place to live

Lovely place to live, great house and really pleased overall. This is our first home and dream home so we’re very pleased with the location and where we’ve settled in order to build our start in life. Everyone is very friendly and there’s a good community spirit.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Lovely countryside location, peaceful and very quiet. The village is small and some things are a bit of a drive away due to the rural location but it depends what you’re looking for.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes we’ve had issues sorted despite having to chase them up and being proactive.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The internet wasn’t set up and we moved in without the white box being installed in order to get broadband which was quite frustrating.

I moved here 18 months after my home was built and am the second person to occupy this house. however, I have had no issues with building management or property management. I have quite a big garden to which i enjoy each summer. I would recommend living in the area and one of these homes.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

there is very little to choose from with one local shop and one local public house. however there is a local supermarket 12 mins away in the car. the area is quiet although there is no control over the playing area for children, so in affect cars do get damaged with balls and kids bikes. transport links to other areas is somewhat limited, so a car and being able to drive is advantageous. bin collections are pretty regular but do get mixed up as to when they're collected as they're not always on the days that they're meant to be. overall i still recommend the area and the homes.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I have not had any issues as of yet to report. but if I do I'm sure to find out

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

i have had a problem with moles very badly when I first moved here but other than that I cannot fault the house or the area.

Think twice before purchasing a Harron Home.

Harron homes advertise Luxury Homes. Far from it, purchased in 2017. Shoddy workmanship and finishes. No pride was taken in the contractors work. Snagging problems were often ignored and it was an uphill struggle to get rectified. The paint was still wet the day we moved in. From the outside, the building is pleasing and of a nice design.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Crich is a lovely village and place to live.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

An uphill struggle, resolved very slowly. Only interested in £ being paid and getting the next house built.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We only had 10 minutes to look and report any faults, while personnel hovered outside, before moving in. Allow yourself at least 2/3 hours.

Don’t buy from Harron Homes

We have had so many problems with our new build house including a waterlogged garden, down pipe not connected to the drains, poor workmanship and a complete disregard for after sales care. Customer support never respond and when remedial works are carried out they never actually resolve the problem. We have had grouting problems and vinyl relaid and the repairs have not been any better than they were before. Now we have water flooding down the road when it rains, which is coming off the area to be landscaped. I have been in contact with the local MP as the residents are concerned about the state of the land which is meant to become a green area with shrubs, trees and grass and is not currently fit for purpose. I completely regret buying this property as it has been a very stressful experience. My advice would be NOT to buy from Harron Homes.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Crich is a lovely village well served with amenities. It is on a bus route and our development is quiet with plenty of parking though the village centre is often quite busy.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

It has been a constant battle to get anything done after we moved in.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish we had known what a poor company Harron Homes were. We were promised a luxury home which could not be further from the truth. No one from Harron Homes is interested in you after you have moved in.
