250 characters to describe the development, I could probably write 250 pages of complaints! Everything looks lovely from a distance but don't look too close, poor quality houses advertised as luxury homes, snagging lists get ignored and a pure lack of communication with anyone involved in tilia is appalling. Overall would avoid at all costs, think the 3 little pigs had better built houses.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It's an estate on the outskirts of town, what more is there to say its close to shops but far enough from the town centre

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How poor after sales service would be and how poor quality the houses are

What is the best feature of your home:

Define best feature...the boiler that breaks after 18 months or the view that disappeared

Some strange design decisions were made

Nicola D (Owner)

The facilities team has been very supportive in helping fix snags, sorting other issues that were not necessarily within their remit and sorting holes and scrapes from moving in. Some strange design decisions were made e.g putting the oven behind the door so you could be hit by the door if anyone entered whilst you were getting something out of the oven. Wasted space in the en-suite - perhaps put a bath should have been put in there. There are rusty man hole covers in strange positions in the front garden. Digging up the back garden has been very hard with rubble and rubble sacks and all sorts dumped under the soil. It would have been helpful to have the garage attached to the house but that’s just my preference. The houses built behind us are far closer than we were led to believe when we were buying the property. They can easily see into our kitchen and we were told that we wouldn’t be overlooked (I asked specifically about how close they would be). The sound proofing between houses is very good - we haven’t heard anything from our semi detached neighbour. However the sound proofing between the floors is awful - any foot steps or noise is very loud. Using the en-suite above the 3rd bedroom leaves nothing to the imagination. The planting is lovely - little bushes that blossom along the front of the houses. It’s lovely that there is green space between the development and the main road. The bedrooms are a great size for a new house and it has a nice solid feel.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Our side of Bunford Heights (Perrys Hill) is nice and open The only time that parking is an issue is when the many contractors decide to park on our street when working. There are days when there is no on street parking available for residents because of them. Obviously this won’t be forever. Bin collections have been fine and there is little traffic noise. This will increase when the houses behind us have been finished. The facilities are not yet finished e.g the childrens park so cannot comment on open spaces yet. We’ve had very little anti social behaviour on this side of the development but there was a stabbing on the far side which was quite shocking. There is a small M &S at the petrol garage. Morrisons is walkable. There will be a local bar/restaurant if/when the Yeovil Court Hotel opens up again.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The noise between floors and the closeness of the new houses being built - being closer than we expected. How much new furniture we would need to make it feel homely and that I needed to wait until we moved in to buy furniture and consider decor.

What is the best feature of your home:

The size of the bedrooms is wonderful. Overall finish is great. A larger than average single garage.

Attractive, quiet, small estate, right on the edge of town surrounded by green fields.

The development is still under construction as there were some delays due to COVID, however this does not inconvenience us at all. The layout of the estate is open with generous amount of room between the detached houses and each house has a good amount of allocated parking directly outside the house. There are a range of different style houses which are very pretty, with lovely green spaces and planting.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Convenient to get to supermarkets and the town centre, within walking distance of shops and petrol station. All homes have off street parking with some extra spaces for visitors.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The snagging took a long time to be resolved and there were numerous changes in the Site management team which delayed things.

What is the best feature of your home:

The large kitchen diner and the finish and quality of the bathroom fittings.

Could be better

The houses all look pretty smart and designed well although seem to have overlooked road space and parking, overall the houses are nice but from personal experience they look nice from a distance until you get up close, finishing touches seem to be the downfall of the developers and snagging takes so long you just as well do it yourself. For the prices I expect better quality

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Close to town but far enough away to be quiet, petrol station with shop just up the road and close to main road

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

What the customer service would be like and what view I'd actually have

What is the best feature of your home:

Nice size garden and good to have a garage close to the house

Nice estate

We like the amount of space between houses and garden size. Houses do not feel on top of each other like other new build estates. Our plot has plenty of parking. Site is attractive with trees and shrubs planted, and we don't feel we get a lot of traffic come past.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Development is on the outskirts of the town so not many pubs. But on a stretch of road free of traffic lights to go to town centre

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We feel like fence height is a little low at around 5.5ft

What is the best feature of your home:

We love the amount of garden and outdoor space for a new build.
