Fantastic and friendly place to live

Becca (Tenant)

Jul 2024

Staff at riverside are always welcoming and friendly, and the amenities are great! Any issues with other tenants are resolved promptly, staff are always happy to have a chat and help with anything you may need. Riverside is very modern building and has many modern features.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Riverside is just a short walk into Manchester city centre, whilst also a short distance to Spinningfields with loads of lovely restaurants and bars. There isn't any parking but it is not needed in this location due to everything being a walk away - it is also really good for transport links being right next to the train station and many bus stops near by.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We've not had many issues but any we have had have been resolved promtly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The walls are quite thin so you can hear your neighbour if they are loud - but you can't blame affinity really, is is just down to neighbours being respectful at certain hours.

The facilities are getting better each year. All that’s needed is more space for vehicle movement such as an adequate drop off area. Underground or overground parking would be ideal, especially for visitors, let alone residents who do have a vehicle.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Excellent facilities, with amazing staff who are always happy to help! Only downside is there is no parking.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, this was dealt with very timely and resolved without further escalation

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How long certain parts would take to be built. E.g the Gym

Great location, management needs improvement

The apartment is still new and clean-ish. Some things have been left damaged by previous tenants that is not fixed, but it is mostly aesthetics. It comes with a gym which is modestly equipped. The management of the place could use vast improvements. Lazy staff members should be removed or retrained, being rude is one thing, but it is not ideal when being rude is combined with laziness. The rent is increasing every year now, so it can be troublesome for to stay on for long term.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Apartment is placed in a good location, near the river and no main road so it is quiet. It is also near bus stop and train station, as well as a decent walk to a tram stop. There's also shops, restaurants and bars nearby. If none of this is useful, it is 15 minutes walk from Deansgate and Market St. The downside is bin collection can be very noisy if window is left open, and there is no parking available. There can be anti-social behaviour in the nearby "park" area.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Maintenance issue is typically addressed in timely manner, but there is lack of communication, with the scheduling. if you don't mind the maintenance person coming in without your presence at home this is not an issue.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Bin collection is noisy, the concierge staff can be rude and lazy.

Good overall

Overall this is a good place to live if you can afford to, as there are many perks. But there are downsides, particularly smell nuisances from the building's restaurant make the living situation difficult if you pick a flat at the back of the building.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good things are the excellent design of apartments, the array of free resident events, and the facilities (dishwashers, free wifi, gym) and the help you will get with maintenance. Bad things are the price is very high now, and there is strong smell all day from the restaurant downstairs.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They've typically told me they can't help when I have gone with complaints, but they do respond to general requests for help.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That there were plans for a restaurant to move in downstairs. Tenants were never informed of this or asked our opinion as to whether itd impact our enjoyment of the property.

Comfortable Living with Welcoming Atmosphere at Riverside

Sadi A (Tenant)

Verified Resident

Nov 2023

When I step into Riverside, the lounge area immediately wraps me in its inviting ambiance. I love that there's a free coffee and drinks machine available; it's a nice perk when I'm craving a warm beverage. My studio is snug and comfortable, although there's a lingering smell likely from previous tenants' pets. Fortunately, it dissipates within seconds after entering, mostly noticeable when I return from outside.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

This place near Spinningfields is super safe and clean. It's a short 15-minute walk to the main shops like the Arndale. You've got handy stores nearby—Sainsbury's, Tesco Extra and M&S. There isn't any free parking, but there are car parks close by and easy transportation options. Taking out the bins is easy—just downstairs and into the chute or skip. I'm on the third floor, and it's pretty quiet without much traffic noise.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management is impressively proactive. Upon reporting any issues to the concierge, they promptly log and escalate the matter, leading to swift action by the management team.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Initially worried about the move from Riverview, given the larger space and abundance of windows in my previous apartment, I was pleasantly surprised. The new place feels cozier, and surprisingly, I haven't had to turn on the heating since it retains warmth quite well. Glad I made the change!
