The queens highlands buildings look very modern and fresh. The interiors are very well finished and still feel very new. The grounds are always immaculately kept and the common gardens are always well presented. There is private underground parking so there are never cars scattered around the place.

Cheap in every sense of the word - place has gone down hill a lot since I've lived here.

The flats were built with one thing in mind and one thing only - be cheap for investors. After 15 years, it shows. The lifts often break down and can take months to fix. This is annoying if you live on the top floor and have limited mobility as I do. There has been a leak of sewage into the car park for several weeks (see the image for a car covered in sewage). The main door and front gate have both been left faulty/broken for months on end. This allows kids to come into the development and cause trouble (eg stealing mail, setting off fire alarms). Several apartments and cars have been broken into recently which is scary. Some of the people who live here do not care for the place, and leave rubbish around, let their animals excrete on the floor and don't pick it up. Parcels/mail often get stolen. Management company don't care for the place / look after it.

Lovely road into the development with nice plantings. Individual barn style homes on approach. Attractive boundary walls throughout the development, and gardens turfed throughout. Lovely walk into woods and close to the historic and stunning Dunnottar Castle. It looks pretty and varied, unlike many other new estates we looked at, and we looked at many.

Design of the houses in the first development are impressive, something a little different. Nice use of different materials which is what attracted us to the house. Design inside the home varies, some additional thought may have been taken in terms of layout - multiple TV points for example in each room, better use of space for storage etc. Overall nice enough finish. Snagging however was a different story, I think speed in building was more important than quality finish. Garden design also lacking, poor drainage and thought when finishing off the houses. Groundworks on whole site could be better. Speed was more important in most aspects of the finishing. Customer services was great to begin with, then gradually became more and more horrendous as time passed. All relates to quality or lack of it - if all had been completed properly as it should have been, snagging would have been relatively easy for all parties however this was not the case. Albeit, all items on snagging list almost done - although approaching 3+ years now! Estate management in terms of factors, very well done but we pay for it each quarter. SM can be slow to react to residents needs, worse after all customer service was handled out of central Scotland. The development is nice, great for families, people of all ages, in a great town. Stonehaven needs more amenities anyway and has done for years but hoping this improves.

We live in a block of 3 houses, which are the only type on the development. We have an end plot, so the garden is pretty big. The house itself is lovely and we pinch ourselves every day, because we feel so lucky. We have a driveway for two cars. The house has three bedrooms. two have built in wardrobes and the other is quite small, so we use it for drying washing and ironing. There is a downstairs cloakroom. We've had the hallway and kitchen retiled, as Stewart Milne use vinyl flooring, which the dog chewed up! The front and back gardens are lovely. However, the grass that Stewart Milne have put down isn't great, so we're going to have to relay the lawn.
