Perfectly connected oasis in the middle of a global city

London City Island, E14

May 2020

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I like proximity to transport link, and the fact that it's a quiet place - no cars! It does feel like oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle. And the architecture is original. Still feels like living in a hotel, in the most positive sense . Local deli is charming with great coffee and Italian treats (tad expensive, though) The trouble is that the development is rather new and we're still waiting for our local supermarket to open. That's the greatest deficit (COVID 19 has led to further delays)

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Quite well, except for one case when my shower broke just before Easter and the initial idea of the management people was to fix it after 6 days. A bit of persuasion did solve the problem though.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I knew that the quality of wooden floor is not the best - almost every smudge stays on it

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

most business units are empty and the facilities are constantly breaking. repairs lack the urgency they should be due.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Quick to arrange inspections of the flat for their own convenience slow to respond to requests for assistance. Constantly close repair tickets without properly investigating faults.

What is the best feature of your home:

flat is well insulated but this backfires in summer.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Quiet and close to tube station. Good little coffee shop. It is lacking proper amenities like london bridge.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

If someone told me that there are monthly hot water/heating outages. I would have looked elsewhere in a massive hurry!!

What is the best feature of your home:

High rise, nice views. Not too busy development. Free access to gym.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Canary Wharf has become a hot spot as residential area in Central London. Excellent public transport (Jubilee line, DLR and Elizabeth line), great commercial offer (3 shopping centres) and local businesses and hospitality variety. If you like a cosmopolitan lifestyle with a diverse nationality background people, and modern residential skyscrapers, this is the place where to live in London.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One exceptional point to mention is the excellent Concierge service awarding residents enjoy (24/7/365), not only because the non-stop service but because of their kindness and professionalism of the staff. We would like to make special mention to Maria and Hristina.

What is the best feature of your home:

The height, views, gardened terrace and construction materials quality. After three years, the apartment looks great and brand new and our plants in the terrace are loving the sunlight orientation so much.
