The staff are lovely staff

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location of this building is fantastic, it’s accessible and central . It’s a couple of minutes walk from the train station and the city centre it’s ideal specially if you don’t have a car. You really can get to anywhere in a matter of minutes. I prefer to stay positive however I have experienced several incidents of antisocial behaviour as a resident and tenant and I have observed homeless people trying to steal property on a multiple occasions. There are a range of socioeconomic issues that will contribute to this hit for a property that markets itself as luxury I think this really does need to be addressed. I understand that the building has been raided several times and as a single person living in the property I don’t always feel safe here. My car has also been broken into twice since the duration of my tenancy, which is unacceptable, because many cars here have been broken into and it’s not really acceptable to be honest. The bin collection process is fine, the staff member works so hard to keep the bins at a level however sometimes the residence rather than putting their bin bags in the bin, they will leave it on the floor, which is strange .

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very poorly, not taken personally just think there are things that need a more radical approach

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

this place has cockroaches, and people have drawn over the corridor walls, there is nothing luxurious about the building - I have lived in some beautiful places but this, the hygiene & responsiveness ain’t it. I could say more but think carefully before you move in. Only advantage for me is it’s location and that you can have pets but tbf I don’t even like my dogs here, people leave bins out with food & naapplies yuck!

CQ is the place to be!

Steph J (Tenant)

Clarendon Quarter, LS3

Sept 2024

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I cannot recommend CQ enough! I absolutely love living here. Three years on and I still feel so lucky to be living here. I have built a lovely life around living here and everyone is incredibly friendly living amazing lives built around living here too! The site of Clarendon Quarter is really quite a unique complex for the area it is situated in, which is within a short walking distance away from a plethora of so many important features that are core to the city of Leeds. For example, the many Universities, the newly renovated Hyde Park Picture House, Leeds General Infirmary that has a shuttle bus to St James' hospital, (to name just a few), as well as really useful local amenities such as a local shop, Brudenell pharmacy (which provide the best service!), a GP practice and a post-office etc. The grounds of CQ are beautiful and very well-maintained. They look over into Armley, the Yorkshire countryside and some amazing sunsets can be experienced from the rooftop terrace. And yet, there is a real sense of community here at CQ too. Faces become familiar and you make true friends. At CQ you therefore get a full immersive experience with a malleability that you can use to mould as you like. This is a let primarily for professionals, therefore a great step out of the University way of living and into the 'real' world, whilst still having wonderful support from the on-site management team.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very quickly and it was so appreciated. The battery in my flat door lock went and this was replaced instantly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Initially, I was really nervous about moving in as it was the first time I had ventured out of student living. Little did I know it was to become the best decision I made! I now have a hamster called Clarendon living with me, named after CQ becuase of how happy and content I am living here, and in a world full of adversity, I really appreciate having such a safe home and space.

Little gem in the heart of the city

Alex (Tenant)

Queen Street Quarter, LE1

Sept 2024

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Beautifully located in the heart of the cultural quarter. Near Athena and the Curve. Close to the centre and all the local shops. Quiet at nights, safe, as it is a gathed community. The laddies from reception are all lovely and helpful.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They responded quickly and were always very helpful

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The facilities are great, but you share them with two blocks of flats. That means you never know how busy they can get.
