High standard houses with great views to the hills

The development has been well thought out with a good mix of brick and render frontages. The larger houses have a good area in front which has been landscaped well. Our rear garden has also been well landscaped, with a mix of turf and a large number of shrubs and grasses. The play area has not yet been built as building is ongoing, but it will have a large grass and tree landscaped area around it with views to the hills and the coastline. Customer care so far has been excellent, with great attention to customer satisfaction by quickly dealing with the few minor issues that have arisen in the new house.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The development is relatively small with only 80 houses, and there are great views of the hills from most roads. Barnstaple is a 15 minute walk, with lots of shops, pubs and restaurants. there are several award winning beaches within a 20 minute drive, and Exmoor is also easy to reach. The site is next to a piece of common land that was recently bought by the local community and there are views over it from the houses at the bottom of the development. There are bus services nearby both local and further afield in Devon, and the train station is just over a mile away with services to Exeter. All the houses have two parking spaces, and there are a good number of visitor bays, so there is very little street parking. There is no real traffic noise as the main road is some distance away.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We didn't realise we had such a fabulous view from our upstairs bedrooms - views all the way down the coastline and fab sunsets.

What is the best feature of your home:

The kitchen has a great mini conservatory which adds to the floor space and gives great light in the kitchen.

We got 4 x bed detached house in Pilton area. It was an easy and trouble free bying from start to finish. Amanda, keept us informed the whole way through. She made sure that we were up to date in what was going on, and also in what was needed from us (choosing colours, taps etc). Lovely experience.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

We are happy with a house and location. Awaiting for some repairment done due to settling ground/house. Bin collection is excellent. We haven't witness any anti-social behaviour. Not noise street, but with parking we have same issues. People are dumping cars everywhere and not considering others. For example same cars are parked on half pavement or crossroad.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The transaction and move in date is the same date/time.

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature is space on the landing and main house heart is kitchen.

Design could have been planned out better to make more of the space

Design could have been planned out better to make more of the space. Could do with more sockets in the properties and better soundproofing. The gardens are also very wet due to it being clay. Other than a few initial problems (poor installation of bath, cracked toilet etc) I haven’t had any problems. There isn’t much storage space either. Although the rooms are a nice size. Took quite a while to get the issues sorted but it’s done now abs we have settled in well. I am used to living in Victorian London houses that have a better standard of build so a new build has been an eye opener.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is great. Not too far to town. And despite being near a main road and hospital you don’t really hear it. Nice park not too far down the road either.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I’ve been unfortunate with a noisy neighbour so would have preferred better aoondproofing. I also would have liked to know about the lack of storage and the soaking wet garden. The car park spaces are also super close to each other which is hard when you have people park right on the line.

What is the best feature of your home:

Bedroom sizes. Nice carpets and flooring. Feels safe.

Attractive and promising development

The overall development looks high quality and attractive. Most problems have been dealt with quickly and efficiently. There will be a children's park once complete but the development has not reached that stage yet, but it will be a great addition to the area as currently there is nothing like that is close by. Unfortunately our house is more overlooked than we anticipated, giving the neighbours a full view into our house and garden, we are currently planning adding trellis and climbers to give us some privacy.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Raleigh Holt is a lovely quiet area, close enough to town and shops but far enough away not to hear it. Very close to the local hospital too. As a new development so far it is quiet and the community is very friendly, lots of people interested in building a tight knit community with local events etc.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We didn't realise how overlooked we would feel, the development plans didn't make it look as close as it is in reality. Not loads of storage but it can be improved with clever shelving added into the airing cupboard and under the stairs, also adding built in wardrobes add lots more storage space.

What is the best feature of your home:

Kitchen diner with French doors, bright and spacious.
