Great village with a community feel and a huge amount of facilities.

Moved into our new Jelson Home in Long Buckby back in 2018. It is a huge plot with top end interior finishes. The quality of the build and in particular doors in particular really makes the house feel executive. It's unusual these days to have solid internal walls rather than plasterboard partitions so this adds a robust feel. Initially we had a couple of minor issues but Jelson quickly replaced the toilet pan, a couple of kitchen cupboards and some glazing. Brilliant family home which I'm really happy with.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Great village with a community feel and a huge amount of facilities. Direct access only a short ride on the train line to London, Birmingham and beyond.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Initially we had a couple of minor issues but Jelson quickly replaced the toilet pan, a couple of kitchen cupboards and some glazing. No questions asked and replaced in a timely manner.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Before moving in I was dubious about the proximity to the trainline and almost pulled out because of it. Because we're near the station the trains slow down so it's barely noticeable.

Great Estate

It is a quiet estate, we never have a problem with noise. The houses have different designs which makes for plesant surroundings. The building management was great and the snagging taken care of swiftly. It could do with more lighting around the back paths of the estate.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Long Buckby has everything you need, doctors, gym, rugby club, hairdresers, 2 x supermarkets, butchers, gift shops, the list goes on. This estate is right by the train station which goes to Birmingham and London. I don't really take the buses so I'm not sure what they are like. We have fields around the estate which are perfect for walking the dog.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very quick and efficient and the snagging process was super easy. There was one thing that didn't quite get fixed that I need to go back to them on but still a good service.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known that they would be building opposite me for another year, yes it was a building site but all the other houses have gone up quickly and I'm not sure what the delay has been with those opposite us.

A good place to live

The development feels like a mini neighbourhood and I appreciate that not every home looks the same. Being so close to the train, I also really appreciate the excellent sound proofing of the windows. We are in a semi detached and the shared internal wall is also excellent sound proofed and we do not hear our neighbours at all. The property management itself has been hit or miss. Sometimes they are very responsive and others you have to consistently chase. All the workers who have come in to do touch ups etc have been lovely and helpful.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The development is in a great location, it's actually why we chose to move here. 3 minutes walk to the train and you're in Birmingham or London in less than 1.5 hours. The development is also less than a 15 minute walk to the shops, GP etc. The village itself has a lot to offer for a little place.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

This has been hit or miss but we have managed to get them all sorted in the end.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

To do your research - if you're interested in some of the higher specs but are budget conscious, there are some a lot more affordable to purchase them separately and have the work done by someone local.

Happy at first home

The design is very modern and I love it, our house is very cute to look at and looks nice when we finally done it all up and added out finishing touches. We just need to change some final things around the house and we’ll be complete. Very happy with what we got.

Great New Build in a Fantastic Area

Libby B (Owner)

Aug 2021

I think this development has been designed wonderfully, not all the houses are the same shape and some are made of different materials so this gives a look that has been thought about, rather than a rinse and repeat. My house is high spec and amazing inside, they have since come back to finish some snagging and I also have just handed in my 6 month form for the shrinkage snagging. Over all I have been very impressed with their reactiveness and response times to get things done.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Long Buckby has pretty much everything you need. Includingm doctors, dentists (x2), schools and even a fire station. The supermarket shopping is covered with a Costcutter, a Coop, a butchers, a local deli shop and a bakery. Eating out and take away is covered too with a couple of Pizza places, Indians or Chinese and of course fish and chips which are super yummy from The Big Fryer! There is a train station which is super handy and there are buses too but I would say you do need a car to pop to different villages or to Daventry to a bigger supermarket, banks and more shops. You can hear the trains from the house when outside but my house is so well sound insulated that you hardly notice it from the inside. It does help too that there aren't trains running every minute! There is plenty of onstreet parking and I have a double drive so that it handy. Even though there is building still happening, my street is very quiet and I believe when they finish the development it will still be a no exit street so will continue being quiet. The whole developement has been very quiet.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They have repsonded promtly and have sent people very quickly to get things fixed

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

A small one but I would have got some carpet covers (or asked for some from Jelsons) for the whole house so that when the mover people and contractors came in I was still preserving the fresh carpet for a bit longer!
