Design of the house is good

Design of the house is good, 3 bedrooms with a loft bedroom that is large. Small hallway is unpractical though. Building management and property management company do near nothing in support considering the annual charge. Damage to the property was not rectified as they deemed this within tolerance even though as large visual sight

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Great rural suburb area with small local shops on the village. Located in perfect spot next to M62 for commuting links

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Do not use the miller extras. Get the house as a shell and do it your self. Save a lot of money and get better quality (Carpets, tiles, kitchen appliances)

What is the best feature of your home:

The master bedroom and garden size. Also the street being tucked away

We love the design of our house and the neighboring houses, the streets for the lived in houses are kept clean the majority of the time and free from building materials etc. When we first arrived at the development the development manager was fantastic, he made sure everything (including snagging) was dealt with in good time and always helped out with any other problems we had.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The good aspects of living in the estate is the local area shops, there are nearby shops, hairdressers, good quality pubs and open spaced areas for the kids. Our street is nice, people seem really nice and everything is kept clean and clear.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We wish we knew that the quality of the turf we had put down was not a good standard, which is why I cannot give a 5 star review.

What is the best feature of your home:

We love the en-suite bathroom and the garden. We have more space than we thought we would.

the site team were very accommodating with any issues we had

The development process was clearly discussed with us at every stage and the site team were very accommodating with any issues we had. They provided a smooth transition into the property and ensured that we settled in well within the first few months.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There are local convenience shops within walking distance. Several high quality restaurants nearby for excellent Indian, Chinese or pub food. Bin collections weekly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Be prepared to need a lot of storage space and try to create more from what little there is. We put up shelves and bought ottoman beds to provide extra space where there wasn’t any.

What is the best feature of your home:

The Kitchen has the be the best feature. We chose the specification and many of the appliances for our kitchen when we purchased so it was exactly what we wanted when we moved in.

I love my miller homes house. I’ve not had any major problems when moving in and when I have had a small problem I have raised this with the after sales team and it’s been escalated and dealt with promptly and efficiently. Management were helpful when we first moved in and allowed our carpet fitters in before we actually moved in! Facilities in the house are really good and I am happy with all the upgrades I chose. I purchased my own kitchen appliances and it proved difficult to source my doors and plinths to make my kitchen integrated - millers could assist with this I think to make it easier for customers.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Drighlington is a small village some convenience shops and nice pubs, I knew there weren’t lots of shops etc before I moved in here. Limited takeaway and restaurants but again I knew this before moving in. It has lovely outdoor green spaces and the community is lovely and friendly. Bin collection has been difficult and issues have been raised with the local council. Parking on my street is good and everyone is respectful. The only transport link is a bus route and this takes a long time to get into Leeds city centre so I don’t bother.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Don’t purchase grass with miller homes do this yourself once moved in. Alarm system is a great upgrade.

What is the best feature of your home:

I love my kitchen and all the upgrades I purchased including the induction job, splashback and the sink. The en-suite is a really good size. Lots of storage space which I was worried I wouldn’t have.

The design of the estate and my own block of flats is actually very impressive. And I particularly appreciate the green spaces for children to play safely. I am proud to call this place my home and I often receive positive comments when taxi drivers drop me off. Perhaps some of the paving could do with some repairs, as some slabs are uneven or have sunk. But I understand that for now the priority is building the rest of the estate. From what I know, everyone is quite happy to live here.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The local premier shop is a well stocked, friendly convenience store with ATM and post office. The local bar restaurant Romanos unfortunately attracts some undesirable clientele, people that act in a loutish manner. I think it is unfortunate that our estate can only choose from OFNL internet service providers. The main problem in our area is the appalling mobile phone signal, can Miller Homes not contact the network providers and insist that transmitters or boosters be put up to rectify this?.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

OFNL only for internet providers is severely limiting to the amount of provider options. Having to pay both Yorkshire Water and Independent Water Networks two separate bills, one for clean water usage and one for sewerage usage, is expensive and leads to complications. Utility companies will not fit smart meters. Kitchen units did not have pre drilled holes required for fitting dishwasher. It was difficult in the first 18 months for companies to find the address.

What is the best feature of your home:

I would say the bathroom in particular is very nice. Good powerful shower, nice tiling and flooring. Excellent sink and taps. The economy size bath is a little too small.
