If i had to design my abode as a 27 year old professional then it would be identical to Hairpin House. An Unparalleled levels of attentiveness and assistance from the team, in addition to a beautiful aesthetic, and the perfect location, indubitably make this the best place to live in all of Birmingham.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The perfect location. The city centre is a 15 minute walk, during which you'll pass the coach station and New Street train station. A plethora of bars and clubs are only 5 minutes away but for all the fun and convenience that the location offers, it also proves the most important factor; a safe environment.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes. I had an issue with my washing machine which was fixed within 2 days.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known that there is the rooftop terrace.

Best place I’ve lived - so much so we upgraded within the building after a year. Can see myself settled here! Staff are friendly, never miss a parcel, facilities are stunning and not to mention pet friendly, our cat loves it here as much as, if not more than we do!!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Fantastic location, digbeth and the custard factory just over the road, great places to go! I highly recommend Sobremesa!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We had a dodgy washing machine when we first moved in, maintenance changed it for us within the day - very helpful!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That it was so nice! Now I don’t want to leave, got me stuck here!

Hairpin House is designed beautifully, with stunning interiors. The apartments are great sizes, it’s so nice to be able to paint the walls, hang pictures up and really make it feel like your home. The team at Hairpin are always kind and happy to help! They helped us to find the perfect two bedroom apartment with ease. Any issues are dealt with professionally and swiftly. Emma and Megan help in any way that they can and are always there for a quick chat to brighten the day! After living in private rentals and going to a BTR like Hairpin I will never go back! I’m so grateful to call Hairpin my home.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

After living at Hairpin House for a year in a one bedroom apartment we decided to renew our tenancy for a two bedroom apartment for another 18 months! It’s so close to the city centre, Digbeth is right round the corner with lots of bars, pubs and eateries! Great location with lots of things to do, local pubs host quiz nights, laser quest at NQ64, bowling lanes and mini golf too!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Any maintenance issues have been responded to in a timely manner, follow ups to ensure that everything was carried out perfectly too!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How many offers they have for residents to utilise!

Clean modern apartment in a cool building

Paul (Tenant)

May 2024

I'm quite new to the building so I don't have much experience of the management, but so far, any questions that I've had have been answered quickly and well! I like that the many communal spaces in the building give a chance to meet fellow residents. The rooftop spaces are great to have when the weather is good.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Living in the local area has been a positive experience so far. There are a bunch of cool bars and eateries very near by and it's only 15 minutes to walk in to the city. I can walk to the train stations in 15 minutes and the airport doesn't take long to get to either.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Any issues or questions I have, have been responded to quickly. Very helpful.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I have recently moved into a ground floor apartment. I have cats and they are a little scared by the people walking by - but seem to be getting used to it.

Lovely new building with a growing community within it

Abi (Tenant)

Hairpin House is, overall, a lovely place to live. We have been there for a year now and have just signed a lease for another 3 years! The flat itself is well designed and has excellent furnishings, and the ability to customise the flat (e.g. painting the walls or having maintenance hang pictures) makes so much difference when renting. The building also has communal spaces that are just beautiful and comfortable to be in - they allow residents to socialise with each other and we've made many friends while we've been here. The events that management put on are always fun and enhance the living experience so much. The rules around these extra amenities have changed over the last year which has caused some minor frustration - e.g. coffee machine going from free to paid, opening times being added to spaces that were previously 24/7 - but as a new building I expect these to be teething problems and have settled down a lot more recently, so I believe that any new residents could expect more consistency.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is well placed, being a 20 minute walk from New Street station and a 5 minute walk from Digbeth. Convenience store just one street away, and surrounded by several pubs within a few minutes walk. Being so close to Digbeth & the city centre also gives access to a range of bars and restaurants. Transport links are excellent - the number 50 bus stops right outside the building, Digbeth coach station is a 5 minute walk, and the city centre is in walking distance. Parking is limited in the area but there is a waiting list for parking spaces within the building itself. Our flat is located on the West side of the building and is generally very quiet as we do not face a road directly.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

There is an app for logging maintenance requests, and managers will regularly check if these requests have been fulfilled.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That most residents are very chatty and approachable - if someone is sitting in a communal space, try just chatting to them and you'll be surprised at how sociable people tend to be!
