Lovely Place to Live

Development is on three levels, with lift, laundry facilities, scooter storage, a Bistro, communal lounge and a Hairdresser which is also open to the public. Organised events take place in the lounge, such as a reqular quiz and exercise classes. There is adequate car parking overnight for residents, but the car park can become congested during the day with visitors cars. There is a single electric car charging point, which will be inadequate when more residents acquire such vehicles. On site team are friendly and helpful. The Development has pleasant, well tended gardens, with adequate seating. The stunning scenery of the North Yorkshire Moors is very close by.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Development is a 5 minute walk from the village centre where there is a limited range of shops, including a Co-op and an excellent Hotel, the Royal Oak. The Hotel has a very good restaurant and has several bedrooms. There are a couple of bars in the village. There is a bus stop a few yards from the Development with a half hourly service to both Middlesbrough and Stokesley. These is also a less regular service to Saltburn and Northallerton The village has a railway station on the Whitby line, but this is about a mile away and has a poor service.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very few issues since we moved here some 15 months ago. Anything that has been raised has been dealt with, not always as fast as it could be, but this has been more to do with the developer rather than local management who have been very helpful

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Didn't realise we would be among the younger people living here, surprised to find so many people that are much older than us, no doubt because of the extra care facilities on offer. Have always mixed with young people and this was something that we didn't consider. However, the oldies are lovely!

Excellent energy saving design

Excellent energy saving design. I love the communal areas and the onsite bistro and hair salon are also terrific. Insufficient space in the car park and the electric charging point is only accessible from one of the few disabled spaces.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Shops and medical very close with pubs and restaurants also. Lots of open spaces and nature tree growth that shields the property from road noise and pollution.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Just slow draining sinks. All else very pleasing. I love the overall design.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Road can be difficult to cross at peak times and there’s only pavement on one side It gets quite narrow in places with cars occasionally mounting the pavement. Thought needs to given to slowing traffic speed.

A great place to live

The Court is well designed and spacious with an excellent restaurant and communal lounge. The decor is neutral but with many local pictures and other artwork giving a pleasant environment. The on site management and the care staff are very friendly and approachable and someone is always available to help if needed. Car parking can be limited at certain times but is usually available for residents.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Fry Court is excellently situated not far from the village centre which has a Post Office, hardware store, convenience store, bakers, fish and chip chop and two cafes. There are also Chinese and Indian takeaways and a local Charity shop. There are 2 village pubs both offering food and 3 other smaller bars offering different selections of drinks. The village is very pleasant with 2 village greens with the River Leven running through. There are 2 bus services stopping right outside our development offering services to Stokesley, Guisborough and Middlesbrough although in common with most bus services they terminate quite early.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I have not had to raise any problem so far in my occupancy

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish that I had selected a flat with a balcony as mine is very shadowed by the adjacent trees.

The design is ideal for walkers and other things so residents have . The wide corridors make it an ideal choice for anyone who uses these things . The bathrooms are well adapted and ideal for people who need extra space The cafe is really nice and provides lovely food
