It is a beautiful development with a selection of nice houses with generous size gardens. Friendly staff keen to help as much as they possible can. The completion date was met and the finishes of the house were good. We love the design of the house.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good residential area with a new retail park nearby Public transport is not great so a car is much needed, although traffic is bad.

- The steps of buying a house - House specs - better way of visualising the choices - Traffic

What is the best feature of your home:

The best for us it is the open plan kitchen and that it’s south facing garden

Firstly massive shout out to Rowlands for delivering the house on time during the pandemic. I like the design of the development and my house. All properties are detached with a garage which was a massive bonus as you don't have to pay extra for those selected few that have those features. With regards to quality of build there was lots of snags some big ones too! Especially in the kitchen, but the assistant site manager has had them fixed without any questions.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Lots of positives about the area. Access to green spaces, new lidl on the green spaces etc. However traffic, availability of schools and GPs are a concern for anyone moving here

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Kitchen spec very very poor with little or no options. I wished they didn't install the kitchen at all

Layout, en suite, detached property and detached garage

We love our new Brantwood II home

We love our new Brantwood II home. It is completely perfect for modern life and it felt like home straight away. We have found the Rowlands team really helpful from Kiera’s friendly approach to Andy, the site manager being always helpful and accommodating. Thank you!

The local area has everything you need including bars and local businesses. It is a lovely quiet place to live.

I don’t feel there was anything.

The living/dining/kitchen is the most used space in the house!

The designs of the homes within the development are what really set it apart from the other developments in the area. They are nicely laid out with their own characteristics and the different brick designs give each home an almost individual feel. There were a few minor issues when we moved in as is to be expected but this was resolved in good time and the site managers were on top of things.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The development is situated within a very short walk of the V1 bus route which makes getting to and from Manchester a lot more convenient if you don’t want to drive. The estate itself is quiet and friendly and is set just far enough back from the East Lancs A580 that the noise doesn’t carry.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

When it is windy there is a lot of rubbish from the site that blows into your garden, this is to be expected as it is still in development but I get annoyed at having to pick the builders sandwich packs, cigarette packets up and other discarded rubbish up from the lawn/side of the house.

What is the best feature of your home:

Being a corner plot and south facing we have an unbelievable amount of space in our garden.

Good quality homes but poor finishings

The design and build of the property is excellent with few to no problems with the actual building work. Some of the finishings were not up to the high standards which were expected and these were not dealt with quickly. When trades people are in the property to fix outstanding issues, more problems are often created, and so 6 months on, problems are still being dealt with. This then causes problems regarding needing access to the house to resolve issues and time off work. Gardens are a good size.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The development is a quiet area to live with little anti-social behaviour. There are a few nice restaurants within walking distance and one main bus route into Manchester. Other public transport links are poor.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Surface water drains into a local basin and so this charge is removed from water bills. However, this is not done automatically and you need to supply United Utilities with documents proving this.

What is the best feature of your home:

The open plan dining/kitchen area is excellent for having family or friends round for dinner.
