Buyer beware.

PGM (Shared Owner)

Verified Resident

Jul 2021

As a home ownership scheme buyer, I feel they took every short cut they could to maximise their profits to the determent of the lease holders, I feel the lease is discriminatory, where shared ownership/DMS scheme buyers have been excluded and treated as 2nd class citizens, feel the managing company rendall and rittner do not take the DMS residents concerns seriously and we are treated as an inconvenience they would rather not have. on the social housing side of the development there is already a drug and anti social behaviour issue, this affects not only the part ownership properties but the whole estate, I have seen what I believe obvious drug deals going on with very little or no interference from "security", many residents now live in fear of violence and the constant smell of drugs in the air. Any complaints seem to fall on def ears, and if you try push issues punitive actions are taken to make your life more difficult. The service charges have increased about 60% in 2 years, buyer beware, if these kind of increases continue, you property value will drop and selling may become impossible. even writing this review is a fear full thing to do as the reprisals could be catastrophic for my family if they know I wrote this. its like living in a communist dictatorship, all we wanted was a nice home to raise our children, not live in fear of violent drug dealers and dictator want to be developers and management company.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There is very little parking if you are a buyer on a government affordable housing buying scheme- feel the managing company rendall and rittner do not take the DMS residents concerns seriously and we are treated as an inconvenience they would rather not have. on the social housing side of the development there is already a drug and anti social behaviour issue, this affects not only the part ownership properties but the whole estate, I have seen what I believe obvious drug deals going on with very little or no interference from "security", many residents now live in fear of violence and the constant smell of drugs in the air.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

that we would have been badly affected by heavy drug use and dealing with very little /no/slow action, how much they despise having had to build affordable purchase properties. the developers hate us and not afraid to make it clear to us.

What is the best feature of your home:

my children have their own rooms, although the layout is basic, 1st year architect student stuff
