If you like rats, dirt, dust, rubbish from contractors swearing, rudeness the design isn’t to bad but the overall experience from these people. If you don’t want the perfect home then buy one off these dumps..they sell you the dream but actually give you a absolutely nightmare

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Do not buy from these cowboys we have had problems with our property since day one they lie and remove things from your portal

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish we had done some homework on robrow as we would not have wasted 350k

What is the best feature of your home:

The design is ok overall it’s just the absolute total disregard for the buyers

Not our first choice of development but the house is lovely and our neighbours are nice.

The development is on the edge of the town on what was a greenfield site. To one side there are wide rnaging views across the countryside and the development will have a specially created Panoramic Viewpoint once it is complete. Houses on the development conform to Redrow's Heritage Range which they replicate across the UK, this is a generic mid-century (20th) style of house traditionally built with brick, tile and rendered frontages depending on house type. The majority of the houses are detached 3 and 4 bedroom owner-occupied homes with the addition of some smaller terraced houses and flats for shared ownership/association rental. The detached homes are well designed with plenty of light, while a spacious feel is aided by high ceilings and large internal doors. Redrow offer a wide variety of extra options purchasers can add to their home for that personal touch. The houses are mostly well built, although there have been issues throughout the development with damp and draughts. The builder has been reasonably quick to address these issues, but they should not have been there in t he first place. The downside is the sales process which is weighted heavily in Redrows favour and the on-site sales team have a very aggressive approach until the point of contract exchange after which time they lose interest and it is very difficult to get a clear picture of what is happening and a fixed completion date. Redrow could do much better in this area.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good local facilities in the town which is about 15 minutes walk. Downside is the walk in to town is along a very busy main road with narrow pavements. Development is surrounded by beautiful countryside with plenty of local walking (and some very steep hills). The town is well served by supermarkets and excellent range of independent shops as well as a wide variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants. Various local clubs and societies to suit both adults and children as well as two excellent primary schools and a secondary school.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

More transparency from the on-site sales team about the nature of the shared ownership homes on the site would have been helpful. On-site sales team should not make promises about build time/quality that is not in their gift to keep.

What is the best feature of your home:

The kitchen-dining room is lovely and a great place to relax looking out across the rear garden which is a good size for a new-build. The choice of having an internal door to the integral garage was excellent.

Love the design of the house

Love the design of the house, especially the sloping roof, bathroom window and good sized garden. Have contacted customer services who have resolved problems, i.e. fence down, broken locks, untidy sealant. The location is very good and it is a 20 minute walk into town.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The quality of shops in Shaftesbury is very good, especially The Grosvenor Hotel. Travel to Gillingham to catch the train. Living on the street is lovely - great neighbours. Traffic noise will abate once all the building at Blackmore Down has been completed.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How long before the rest of the building site would be completed after move in date

Wonderful location and attractive small development

The development is not too big and the houses are nicely spaced out. there aren't any facilities as such but perhaps this is because it is a smaller development than some. there is ample green space. there could do with a bit more visitor bay parking as more and more people move in (development not finished yet). The design is very nice and inkeeping with the countryside.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location of the development is perfect in my view. It is located very well to get to the closest town centre which has a good range of essential shops (supermarkets, health stores (boots, superdrug), cafes, WHsmiths, some clothing stores etc). It is also very well located for other larger towns/cities, the coast and areas of countryside and nature. Transport is fine, nearest train station 10 minutes drive which is fine for me as I am a driver. On the development itself, parking is very good as almost all houses have their own allocated parking spaces, although the odd one or two people still choose to park on the road. traffic noise is minimal, bin collections have been fine.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Double check that the pictures shown on line for your property are indeed what you will be getting. Photos of the kitchen on the website were in some parts different than what I got.

What is the best feature of your home:

the general layout of the house. in particular, the en suite, the large patio doors and the bathroom design
